Because of the strong quantum confinement effect, few-layer γ-InSe exhibits a layer-dependent band gap, spanning the visible and near infrared regions, and thus recently has been drawing tremendous attention. As a two-dimensional material, the mechanical flexibility provides an additional tuning knob for the electronic structures. Here, for the first time, we engineer the band structures of few-layer and bulk-like InSe by uniaxial tensile strain and observe a salient shift of photoluminescence peaks.

Moreover, tumor has remarkable heterogeneity, and it is not possible to properly target treatments in cases of relapse without knowing pathological diagnosis. We retrospectively analyzed the diagnosis and treatment of a patient with DM complicated with NSCLC, which developed into severe lung cancer with heterogeneity of the tumor during chemotherapy.

Jasmonates (JAs) and abscisic acid (ABA) are phytohormones known play important roles in plant response and adaptation to various abiotic stresses including salinity, drought, wounding, and cold. JAZ (JASMONATE ZIM-domain) proteins have been reported to play negative roles in JA signaling. However, direct evidence is still lacking that JAZ proteins regulate drought resistance.

It has been recently demonstrated that ZnO nanorods could undergo rapid chemical and morphological transformation into 3D complex structures of Zn(OH) nanofibers as a droplet of ZnO nanofluid dries on the substrate via a mechanism very different from that observed in the coffee ring effect. Here, we have investigated how the crystallinity and morphology of ZnO nanoparticles would affect the ultimate pattern formation.

Non-structural protein 2 (Nsp2) and its hypervariable region play an essential role in the differential diagnosis of PRRSV. Western blot and immunofluorescence assay (IFA) analyses found that 2 out of 18 monoclonal antibodies (MAbs) recognized the NP and that 5 of 11 MAbs recognized Nsp2-120aa.

The high photoluminescence quantum yield, wide color tunability and narrow bandwidth of perovskite nanocrystals make them favorable for light source and display applications. Here, highly transparent green-light-emitting devices (LEDs) using inorganic cesium lead halide perovskite nanocrystal films as the emissive layer are reported. The effect of multilayered nanostructured transparent electrode on optical properties and performance within the LEDs is investigated by fine tuning layer thickness.

WH701 (Ala-Thr-Ala-Gln-Ser-Ala-Tyr-Gly), which was identified by phage display, can specifically bind to TNFR1. In this study, we labeled WH701 with F and investigated its tumor diagnostic value.

Design of polymer nanocomposites has been an intense research topic in recent decades because hybrid nanomaterials are widely used in many fields. Throughout their development, there has often been a challenging issue how one can uniformly distribute nanoparticles (NPs) in a polymer matrix, avoiding their agglomeration. In this short review, we first introduce the theory of colloidal aggregation/gelation purely based on intense shear forces.

The tissue engineered bone graft will be a promising approach if vascularization of the graft is realized. In this study, beta-tricalcium phosphate (β-TCP) scaffold incorporated with bone forming peptide-1 (BFP-1) was fabricated.

To develop efficient chemotherapy drugs for CRC, the present study isolated and identified a novel -kaurane diterpenoid from , termed pterisolic acid G (PAG). This -kaurane diterpenoid was demonstrated to significantly inhibit the growth of human CRC HCT116 cells in a time- and dose-dependent manner, determined using the Cell Counting Kit-8 assay.

NGF was loaded into the fillers in such a way so that a NGF gradient was established longitudinally along the filler length. A type of poly(lactide-co-glycolide)(PLGA)/chitosan(CH) porous conduit was fabricated using a pre-crosslinking method.

In particular, synchronous gallbladder and gastric malignancies are extremely rare, are associated with a concealed onset and atypical symptoms, and are highly likely to be overlooked or misdiagnosed. The clinical data of two patients with synchronous gallbladder and gastric malignancies are herein reported and integrated with the relevant literature to retrospectively analyze and summarize the pathogenesis and clinical characteristics of MPM.

As the results of the association between insulin therapy and risk of liver cancer among diabetics have been inconsistent in epidemiological studies, we conducted a meta-analysis to quantify this issue. Data of relevant epidemiological studies were collected by searching articles in PubMed, Web of Science, and Embase till 29 June 2017. Random-effects models were employed to combine study-specific risks.

The developmental potential and the changes in cytoskeleton structures in immature oocytes of cattle resulting from liquid helium (LHe) vitrification was evaluated in this study. Immature oocytes were randomly divided into three groups: fresh oocytes (negative control), oocytes vitrified in liquid nitrogen (LN group, positive control), and oocytes vitrified in LHe (LHe group). In Experiment 1, the proportions for normal morphology, maturation, cleavage, and blastocyst were greater in the LHe group than in the LN group (88.

Nerve conduits containing aligned fibrous fillers with gradiently distributed signal molecules are essential for long-gap nerve repair. This study was to develop an approach for establishing nerve growth factor (NGF) gradients onto the aligned chitosan-polylactide (CH-PLA) fibers. CH-PLA containing 37wt% of PLA was spun into fibers using a wet-spinning technique.

Hybrid organic-inorganic compounds attract a lot of interest for their flexible structures and multifunctional properties. For example, they can have coexisting magnetism and ferroelectricity whose possible coupling gives rise to magnetoelectricity. Here using first-principles computations, we show that, in a perovskite metal-organic framework (MOF), the magnetic and electric orders are further coupled to optical excitations, leading to an Electric tuning of the Magneto-Optical Kerr effect (EMOKE).
