Angiopoietin-like 4 (ANGPLT4) regulates lipid metabolism by inhibiting lipoprotein lipase. Abnormal ANGTPL4 levels are associated with metabolic syndrome, atherosclerosis, inflammation, and cancer. We show here that ANGPTL4-deficient mice have abnormally large numbers of macrophages in the spleen, and that these macrophages produce large amounts of TNF-α, CD86, and inducible nitric oxide synthase.

Increased granulosa cell (GC) proliferation may contribute to abnormal folliculogenesis in patients with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), which affects approximately 10% reproductive aged women. However, the mechanisms underlying increased GC proliferation in PCOS remain incompletely understood. In this study, we identified miR-3940-5p as a hub miRNA in GC from PCOS using weighted gene co-expression network analysis (WGCNA), and real-time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) analysis confirmed that miR-3940-5p was significantly increased in GC from PCOS.

Maintenance of regulatory T (Treg) cells is crucial for the regulatory function of Treg cells in immune homeostasis and self-tolerance; however, the detailed underlying mechanisms remain elusive. In the current study, we found that the cytokine suppressor CIS (cytokine induced SH-2 protein) is required for maintenance of Treg cell identity. Mice with Treg-specific Cis-deficiency displayed aggravated experimental allergic asthma, and in adulthood, developed splenomegaly, lymphadenopathy and spontaneous eosinophilic airway inflammation, accompanied by accumulation of effector memory helper T (TH) cells.

We conducted a retrospective cohort study of 9,552 women experiencing their second delivery between 2014 and 2016 at the International Peace Maternity and Child Health Hospital to investigate the association between the interpregnancy interval (IPI) and adverse perinatal outcomes. With the 12-23-mon IPI as the reference category, logistic regression analyzes were used to examine associations between different IPIs (<12, 12-23, 24-59, 60-119, and ≥120 mon) and perinatal outcomes (gestational diabetes mellitus, premature membrane rupture, gestational hypertension, preterm birth, low birth weight, and macrosomia).
