Chlamydomonas reinhardtii, a prominent chassis in synthetic biology, faces limitations in regulating the expression of exogenous genes. A destabilization domain (DD)/Shield-1 system, originally derived from mammals, offers a ligand-dependent control of stability, making it a valuable tool. This system utilises the destabilization domain to induce rapid degradation of target protein unless stabilised by Shield-1, a synthetic ligand.

The ultrasonic time, power, and frequency were considered as experimental factors. The results showed that, compared with conventional RFV drying, ultrasonic pretreatment reduced the drying time of slices by 20-60 min.

It is strongly supported by activated pancreatic stellate cells (PSC) which drive excessive desmoplasia and tumor growth via metabolic crosstalk. Herein, a programmed nanosystem is designed to dual rectify the metabolism abnormalities of the PDAC cells, which overexpress glucose transporter 1(GLUT1) and CD71, and the PSC for oncotherapy.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFAmino acid transporters play important roles in plant growth and stress tolerance; however, whether the abscisic acid signaling pathway regulates their transcription in rice (Oryza sativa) under salt stress remains unclear. In this study, we report that the transcription factor OsMYB2 (MYB transcription factor 2) of the abscisic acid signaling pathway mediates the expression of the gene encoding the amino acid transporter OsANT1 (aromatic and neutral amino acid transporter 1), which positively regulates growth and salt tolerance in rice. OsANT1 was mainly expressed in the leaf blade and panicle under normal conditions and transports leucine, phenylalanine, tyrosine and proline, positively regulating tillering and yield in rice.

However, the situation with low yield and economic value in Kam sweet rice urgently requires improved mechanistic understanding of tillering to increase its yield. In this study, we found that the rate of axillary bud elongation differed significantly among Kam sweet rice varieties, which was positively correlated with tiller number.

A wideband dual-beam dielectric resonator antenna (DRA) with substrate integration capability was proposed for millimeter-wave (mm-wave) applications. The four rows of air vias along the -direction and two extended rectangular patches could shift the undesirable radiation mode upward and move the conical-beam radiation mode downward, respectively. Thus, the TE mode and the TE mode of the patch-loaded perforated rectangular substrate integrated dielectric resonator (SIDR) supporting the dual-beam radiation can be retained in the operating band, and their radiation can be improved by the air vias along the -direction.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFAmino acids are necessary nutrients for the growth of Oryza sativa (rice), which can be mediated by amino acid transporter; however, our understanding of these transporters is still limited. This study found that the expression levels of amino acid permease gene OsAAP12 differed between indica and japonica rice. Altered expression of OsAAP12 negatively regulated tillering and yield in transgenic rice lines.

Radio frequency vacuum (RFV) technology was used to dehydrate Moutan Cortex in this study to investigate the effects of different drying temperatures, plate spacing, and vacuum degree on the drying kinetics, physicochemical quality, and microstructure of Moutan Cortex. The results showed that RFV drying shortened the dehydration time of the Moutan Cortex by 10.

Necroptosis is a crucial modality of programmed cell death characterized by distinct morphological and biochemical hallmarks, including cell membrane rupture, organelle swelling, cytoplasmic and nuclear disintegration, cellular contents leakage, and release of damage-associated molecular patterns (DAMPs), accompanied by the inflammatory responses. Studies have shown that necroptosis is involved in the etiology and evolution of a variety of pathologies including organ damage, inflammation disorders, and cancer. Despite its significance, the field of necroptosis research grapples with the challenge of non-standardized detection methodologies.

The effect of different pretreatments (US-CMC, US-CE, US-EA, US-IMO, US-(PC + AEEO)) on the drying characteristics, quality properties, texture, and sensory evaluation of cherries was evaluated. Results showed that the dehydration time and energy consumption were decreased by 4.

We aim to construct a hierarchical artificial intelligence-based multimodal non-invasive method for pre-endoscopic risk screening, to provide tailored recommendations for endoscopy.
Methods: From December 2022 to December 2023, a large-scale screening study was conducted in Fujian, China.
Both controllable regulation of the conformational structure of a polypeptide and specific recognition of an amino acid are still arduous challenges. Here, a novel dual-mode (electrochemical and colorimetric) biosensor was built for arginine (Arg) recognition based on a conformation switch, utilizing controllable and synergistic self-assembly of a ferrocene-grafted hexadecapeptide (PFc) with gold nanoparticles (AuNPs). Benefiting from the flexibility and unique topological structure of PFc formed nanospheres, the assembly and disassembly can undergo a conformation transition induced by Arg through controlling the distance and number of Fc detached from the gold surface, producing on-off electrical signals.

This study aimed to explore the core genes of craniopharyngioma angiogenesis for targeted vascular therapy based on single-cell nuclear transcriptome sequencing. For single-cell nuclear transcriptome sequencing, we collected six samples from the tumor center and adjacent hypothalamic tumor tissues from three patients with craniopharyngioma, as well as four normal brain tissues based on Gene Expression Omnibus. We screened genes with differential up-regulation between vascular endothelial cells of craniopharyngioma and those of normal brain tissues, performed GO and KEGG analysis, constructed the protein-protein interaction network, and selected key genes verified using immunofluorescence.
