RE-doped β-GaO seems attractive for future high-power LEDs operating in high irradiation environments. In this work, we pay special attention to the issue of radiation-induced defect anisotropy in β-GaO, which is crucial for device manufacturing.   • A study comparing outcomes between patients who underwent THA revisions with and without ETO found that while pre-operative scores were lower in the ETO group, post-operative functional outcomes did not significantly differ, although the no-ETO group showed better quality of life scores.
  • The findings suggest that ETO may not negatively impact revision outcomes, but given its invasive nature, it should be approached on a case-by-case basis.

A simple partial Mueller polarimeter is described, consisting of two linear polarizers and two liquid crystal variable retarders. The measurement leads to an incomplete Mueller-Scierski matrix, in which the elements from the third row and the third column are simultaneously missing. The proposed procedure for determining information about the birefringent medium from such an incomplete matrix is based on numerical methods and carrying out measurements with the rotated azimuthal sample.

The structural, optical, and electrical properties of ZnO are intimately intertwined. In the present work, the structural and transport properties of 100 nm thick polycrystalline ZnO films obtained by atomic layer deposition (ALD) at a growth temperature (T) of 100-300 °C were investigated. The electrical properties of the films showed a dependence on the substrate (-AlO or Si (100)) and a high sensitivity to T, related to the deviation of the film stoichiometry as demonstrated by the RT-Hall effect.

This article introduces a new class of physical unclonable functions (PUFs) based on the Fibonacci ring oscillator (FIRO). The research conducted here proves that before reaching the desired randomness, the oscillator shows a certain degree of repeatability and uniqueness in the initial sequence of internal state transitions. The use of an FIRO in conjunction with the restart method makes it possible to obtain a set of short boot sequences, which are processed with an innovative feature extraction algorithm that enables reliable device identification.

This work presents the results of in vivo measurements of human corneal birefringence properties using the one-way reflective polariscope, in which the same module is used to generate and analyze the light polarization state. Data analysis was performed with the use of Mueller polarimetry techniques. The distribution of the azimuth angle and the phase retardation was determined on the paracentral and limbal areas.
