We report on the feasibility of a technique for total hip replacement with in situ preparation of the femoral stem through a superior approach and with the use of standard instruments. From December 2017 to august 2018, 100 patients were recruited for total hip replacement. 80 patients underwent THA through a superior approach with femoral broaching before femoral neck cut.

The Bacillus Calmette-Guerin (BCG) has been used as intravesical immunotherapy for superficial urothelial bladder carcinoma in preventing its recurrence. Prosthetic joint infections due to those instillations are very rare and few practitioners know this side effect. We report the case of a 77-year old male with a medical history of right hip replacement and super- ficial urothelial bladder carcinoma treated with BCG-instillations.

We present the case of a 50-year-old man who developed a delayed progressive swelling over the medial aspect of his right thigh, six weeks following minimally invasive plate osteosynthesis (MIPO) of a supracondylar femur fracture. Angiography showed a false aneurysm of the superficial femoral artery, caused by progressive displacement of a butterfly fragment. Open vascular repair was performed and the sharp edge of the butterfly fragment was removed.

A survey of 43 cemented arthroplasties of the trapeziometacarpal joint with a la Caffinière prosthesis in 40 patients is presented. A 70% patient satisfaction rate was obtained, with a mean DASH score of 24.2.
