Mercury is one of the most common heavy metals and a major environmental pollutant that affects ecosystems. Since mercury and its compounds are toxic to humans, even at low concentrations, it is very important to monitor mercury contamination in water and foods. Although conventional mercury detection methods, including inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry, atomic absorption spectroscopy, and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry, exhibit excellent sensitivity and accuracy, they require operation by an expert in a sophisticated and fully controlled laboratory environment.

Objectives: We sought to determine the classification performance of lung point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) compared with chest x-ray study to identify acute heart failure in an older population.
Methods: We conducted a cohort study with additional health records review between March and September 2017.
In this study, chemical investigation of methanol extract of the air-dried fruits of Luffa cylindrica led to the identification of a new δ-valerolactone (1), along with sixteen known compounds (2-17). Their chemical structures including the absolute configuration were elucidated by extensive spectroscopic analysis and electronic circular dichroism analysis, as well as by comparison with those reported in the literature. For the first time in literature, we have examined the binding potential of the isolated compounds to highly conserved protein, M of SARS-CoV-2 using the molecular docking technique.

Here, we developed a RT22-ep59 antibody (Ab) that directly targets the intracellularly activated GTP-bound form of oncogenic KRAS mutants after it is internalized into cytosol by endocytosis through tumor-associated receptor of extracellular epithelial cell adhesion molecule (EpCAM) and investigated its synergistic anticancer effects in the presence of gemcitabine in pancreatic cancer. The effects of a reputed protectant, whey protein isolate (WPI), on Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG (LGG) were examined by exposing the cells to WPI solution to induce protein adsorption at the cellular surface prior to spray drying. Based on the aqueous solubility test, liquid SNEDDS was composed of Peceol™ (oil), Tween® 80 (surfactant), and Labrasol® (co-surfactant) at a weight ratio of 25/50/25, generating the smallest nanoemulsion droplet size. The maximum MTGase activity on rice glutelin-casein blends were found when its addition was 15 U/g of protein. Compared with the blends without MTGase, the appropriate addition of MTGase significantly affected the microstructure of the cross-linked proteins, resulting in the gradual 'burying' of Trp residue; while the space for hydrogen bonding was more abundant.
