Uncertainty among patients with advanced-stage lung cancer.

Background: Uncertainty is the inability to define the meaning of illness-related events, which may result in anxiety, depression, poor coping, the self-perception of being a burden and low quality of life. Uncertainty among Thai patients with advanced-stage lung cancer (ASLC) has not been well documented.

Aims: To assess uncertainty in patients with ASLC.

Quality of life and its correlates in pretreatment patients with locally advanced head and neck cancer: A cross-sectional study in Thailand.

Background: Locally advanced head and neck cancer (LAHNC) can significantly impact the quality of life of patients in various ways. However, several factors can contribute to the decrease in quality of life. In Thailand, there is limited knowledge about the factors that affect the quality of life of patients with LAHNC before they receive treatment.

Characterization of Orientia tsutsugamushi isolated from wild-caught rodents and chiggers in northern Thailand.

We previously reported Orientia tsutsugamushi detection from tissue samples (kidney, liver, spleen, and whole blood) of 12 wild-caught rodents from Chiangrai Province, northern Thailand. Of the 30 chiggers individually removed from scrub typhus-infected rodents, 2 were found positive for O. tsutsugamushi.
