Genomic Prediction Accuracy Using Haplotypes Defined by Size and Hierarchical Clustering Based on Linkage Disequilibrium.

Genomic prediction is an effective way to estimate the genomic breeding values from genetic information based on statistical methods such as best linear unbiased prediction (BLUP). The used of haplotype, clusters of linked single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) as markers instead of individual SNPs can improve the accuracy of genomic prediction. Since the probability of a quantitative trait loci to be in strong linkage disequilibrium (LD) with a cluster of markers is higher compared to an individual marker.

Heme oxygenase-1 promotes tumor progression and metastasis of colorectal carcinoma cells by inhibiting antitumor immunity.

Heme oxygenase-1 (HO-1) is upregulated in colorectal carcinoma (CRC) cells. However, the role of HO-1 in the metastatic potential of CRC remains to be elucidated. In this study, we investigated the potential of HO-1 to control the antitumor immunity of CRC.

[Clinical characteristics of patients with chronic constipation after radical hysterectomy or delivery].

Background/aims: This study was aimed to analyze the clinical characteristics of patients who developed constipation after radical hysterectomy or delivery and to investigate the results of biofeedback therapy for these patients.

Methods: Thirty-five chronic constipation patients with radical hysterectomy (radical hysterectomy group), 27 chronic constipation patients with delivery (delivery group) and 27 constipation patients with no history of hysterectomy or delivery (control group) were included. Clinical characteristics of these patients, including the results of biofeedback therapy, were analyzed.
