[Nitrite and nitrate content in selected herbal medicaments used in obesity and diabetes mellitus type 2 treatment].

In this study we assessed the content of nitrites III and V in selected herbal medicaments used in obesity and diabetes mellitus type 2 treatment. The spectrophotometry Griess and Ilosvay method with cadmium column was used. Nitrites III content in all investigated herbal medicaments did not make any health menace for patients but content of nitrites V is very high and impacts on ADI.

[The content of nitrates III and V in mineral table water and in medicinal waters].

In this study we assessed the content of nitrates III and V in the 11 sorts of mineral table waters and 7 sorts of the healing waters. The spectrophotometry Griess and Ilosvay' method with cadmium column according to Polish standards was used. We found the presence of nitrates V in all investigated types of waters.

Clinically evident thyroid gland disorders in Lublin Region.

The authors tried to assess the prevalence of thyroid gland pathology in Lublin and the Lublin Region population over 35 years old. The study was performed a few years after introduction of iodine prophylaxis in Poland. In our study we still found high prevalence of goitre--about 12% in town and rural population.

Insulin resistance, parameters of carbohydrate metabolism, anthropometric parameters, interactions in diabetic patients.

The aim of the study was to investigate relationships between insulin resistance index and basic parameters of carbohydrate metabolism and anthropometric values. We investigated patients with diabetes mellitus t.2 (n = 36) treated with oral hypoglycemic agents.
