The authors present their experiences in diagnosis and treatment of sacroiliac joint arthritis in 7 children, that were admitted to Orthopaedic Ward of University Children's Hospital in Cracow, Poland in years 2000-2004. The mean age at the time of admission was 11,6 years (6-17). Main complaints given by patients were as follows: affected side buttock pain (3 patients), sacroiliac pain (2 patients) and hip pain (2 patients).

In this paper data on nine tibial tuberosity fractures were presented according to all types in Watson-Jones classification and one fracture of type IV according to Curtis. Two more fractures were presented that fulfilled clinical and radiological standards of the knee's extensory structures injury, but were not tibial tuberosity fractures. In operative treatment screws were used as well as Kirschner wires or both these devices together.

Nine wrists in eight patients were treated surgically between 1988 and 2003 for symptomatic Madelung's deformity. The pain of involved wrist followed by forearm deformation fulfilled criteria for surgery. Closing wedge osteotomy of the distal radius were carried out eight times accompanied by shortening of the ulna (four patients), excision of the distal ulna (one patient), and no ulnar surgery (three patients).

The purpose of this study is to assess the outcome of proximal femoral resection in dislocated hip in cerebral palsy patients. Between 1993-2003 we treated 5 nonambulatory patients with quadriplegic form of cerebral palsy. We performed 6 resection of the proximal part of the femur.

The authors present their own experiences in operative treatment of the upper extremities in 24 children with osteogenesis imperfecta (oi) among 141 treated in years 1988-2002, in whom 34 operations were performed. In one subgroup were children presented with bone fractures: olecranon six, humerus shaft five, lateral condyle of the humerus one, humerus supracondylar fracture one. In second subgroup included children with upper limb deformities following procedures were performed: correction of cubitus varus three, humerus osteoclasis two, dislocated radial head resection, forearm correction thirteen.

38 patients, and 45 hips has undergone treatment for slipped capital femoral epiphysis between 1995 and 2000. On the basis of the measurement of the head shaft angle on X-ray examination done preoperatively, hips were classified to one of the three groups--mild, moderate, and severe slippage. All patients had undergone pinning in situ as a primary treatment.

We have described management in tibia's intercondylar eminentia fractures in children, based on own data and review of the contemporary bibliography. The data contain 16 children from 6 to 14 years of age with all Meyers' and McKeever' fractures types. Type I and II fractures can be treated conservatively.
