Exploring sexual health in people with mild intellectual disabilities: A concept mapping study on the perspectives of relatives and support staff.

Background: Sexual health includes physical, emotional, mental, and social wellbeing related to sexuality. Given people with mild intellectual disabilities' reliance on relatives and support staff, it is important to explore the latter's understanding of sexual health.

Method: Relatives ( = 7) and support staff ( = 15) of people with mild intellectual disabilities participated in a concept mapping procedure that included brainstorming, sorting and ranking activities.

Background: Providing appropriate sexual support and education for adults with mild intellectual disabilities (IDs) is a source of considerable debate, resulting in diverse, non-funded and potentially adverse practices. The aim of this study was to assess the possibility that ovulation might be induced in seven amenorrheic hyperprolactinemic women by treatment with naltrexone (50 mg/day) for 4-5 weeks. Male and female chickens of a layer strain (White Leghorn), a commercial broiler strain (Ross), and two experimental broiler lines (designated GL and FC) were used to estimate differences in proteolytic enzyme activities in the breast muscles. CV 205-502, a new dopamine agonist, versus bromocriptine in the treatment of hyperprolactinaemia.

Forty-seven hyperprolactinaemic patients with serum prolactin (PRL) concentrations persistently above 1500 mU/l were treated with the new dopamine agonist CV 205-502 or bromocriptine in a prospective, randomized and double-blind fashion during a 24-week period. Two women had to be excluded because of poor compliance in the first month. Therefore 45 patients remained for evaluation.

Extravasation is a frequent complication associated with intravenous infusions. Two case histories are reported in which blister formation is one of the most striking features after the accident. The infusion fluids are no vesicants but commonly used intravenous infusion fluids.

Absorption of minerals and retention time of dry matter in the gastrointestinal tract of broilers.

Six-wk-old male broilers (Hybro), on a corn and soybean meal diet, were used to estimate the mean retention time (MRT) of DM in successive parts of the gastrointestinal (GI) tract and to determine the site of absorption of minerals (Na, K, Ca, and Mg). The main site of absorption of these minerals in the GI tract was between the lower duodenum and the lower jejunum. The apparent absorption of Na continued in the ileum and rectum, and secretion of K, Ca, and Mg was observed in the rectum.

Prophylactic bromocriptine treatment during pregnancy in women with macroprolactinomas: report of 13 pregnancies.

Ten women with a macroprolactinoma had prophylactic bromocriptine treatment during 13 pregnancies in the second and third trimesters. One patient had signs of tumour enlargement during the first trimester, but none of them showed tumour enlargement during prophylactic bromocriptine treatment. Prolactin levels were reduced in both maternal and cord sera, but they were normal in amniotic fluid.
