Aim: To investigate the effect of duloxetine on the pharmacokinetics and tolerability of tolterodine and its active 5-hydroxymethyl metabolite (5-HM).
Methods: Sixteen healthy subjects received two 5-day treatment regimens in a randomized, double-blinded, crossover fashion: tolterodine (2 mg, BID) + duloxetine (40 mg, BID), tolterodine (2 mg, BID) + duloxetine placebo (BID). Plasma concentrations of tolterodine and 5-HM were measured on day 5.
Nebulized levalbuterol has been documented as more efficacious than albuterol in enhancing airflow in Emergency Department (ED) patients with bronchospasm. This work attempts to determine if nebulized levalbuterol yields similar improvements in peak flow measurements as those produced by albuterol in the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) arena. All adult EMS patients given a nebulized beta-agonist from January to June 2000 were included in this prospective, before-and-after, open-label study.

Previous studies have reported learning-related changes in neuronal activity during conditional visuomotor learning, also known as arbitrary sensorimotor mapping, conditional visual discrimination, and symbolic or endogenous mapping. Qualitatively similar observations have been reported for the dorsal premotor cortex, the supplementary eye field, the prefrontal cortex, the hippocampus, the striatum and the globus pallidus. The fact that cells in both the dorsal premotor cortex (PMd) and the basal ganglia show changes in activity during associative learning enables a test of the hypothesis that cortex and basal ganglia function in distributed architectures known as cortical-basal ganglionic modules or 'loops'.

Both sediment SRMs were analyzed using multiple analytical methods including gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS) on columns with different selectivity, reversed-phase liquid chromatography with fluorescence detection (for PAHs only), and GC with electron capture detection (for PCBs and pesticides only). SRM 1941b has certified concentrations for 24 PAHs, 29 PCB congeners, and 7 pesticides, and SRM 1944 has certified concentrations for 24 PAHs, 29 PCB congeners, and 4 pesticides.

The phases were characterized in terms of methylene selectivity, shape selectivity, and band broadening. Aim: To compare the pharmacokinetic profiles and dose proportionality of olanzapine in Chinese and Caucasian subjects.
Methods: Randomized, three-period study with 12 Chinese and 12 Caucasian, healthy, male subjects administered 2.5, 5 and 10 mg olanzapine.
Objective: To study and compare the insulin sensitivity of healthy, nondiabetic Asian Indians with that of two other ethnic groups (Caucasian and Chinese) living in Singapore.
Design: Study of insulin sensitivity using euglycaemic hyperinsulinaemic glucose clamp.
Subjects: A total of 10 healthy, lean, young male subjects of each ethnic group, matched for age, body mass index (BMI) and physical activity.
Radiologic imaging has been clearly shown to be useful for the evaluation of patients clinically suspected of having appendicitis with CT and ultrasound being the most frequently recommended modalities. However, controversy still exists as to which modality is the technique of choice for appendiceal imaging. Our experience has led us to conclude that a standard helical abdominopelvic CT is the initial test of choice for the evaluation of the adult patient suspected of having acute appendicitis.

Our objectives were to determine the effect of duloxetine on the pharmacokinetics of desipramine, a tricyclic antidepressant metabolized by CYP2D6 (study 1), and the effect of paroxetine, a potent CYP2D6 inhibitor, on duloxetine pharmacokinetics (study 2).
Methods: Subjects were healthy men and women between 21 and 63 years old.
Gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS) with negative ion chemical ionization (NICI) detection was utilized for quantitative determination of nitrated polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (nitro-PAHs) in diesel particulate-related standard reference materials (SRMs). Prior to GC/MS analysis, isolation of the nitro-PAHs from the complex diesel particulate extract was accomplished using solid phase extraction (SPE) and normal-phase liquid chromatographic (LC) fractionation using an amino/cyano stationary phase. Concentrations of eight to ten mononitro-PAHs and three dinitropyrenes were determined in three diesel particulate-related SRMs: SRM 1650a Diesel Particulate Matter, SRM 1975 Diesel Particulate Extract, and SRM 2975 Diesel Particulate Matter (Industrial Forklift).
