Article Synopsis
  • The study aimed to investigate if L-carnitine-loaded nanoparticles (LCn) could mitigate reproductive toxicity caused by the insecticide cypermethrin (CYP) in male rats.
  • The experiment involved 20 male Wistar rats divided into four groups to observe the effects of different treatments over two months, resulting in CYP treatment negatively impacting testicular function and hormone levels.
  • LCn showed a protective effect against CYP-induced damage by restoring antioxidant mechanisms, enhancing hormone levels, and improving sperm quality, suggesting it could also positively influence male reproductive system function on its own.

Craniosynostosis, the premature ossification of cranial sutures, is a developmental disorder of the skull vault, occurring in approximately 1 in 2250 births. The causes are heterogeneous, with a monogenic basis identified in ~25% of patients. Using whole-genome sequencing, we identified a novel, de novo variant in BCL11B, c.

B-cell lymphoma/leukemia 11B (Bcl11b) is a transcription factor critical for thymocyte development. We have previously characterized the kinetic post-translational modifications (PTMs) of Bcl11b in double-positive (DP) thymocytes during stimulation of the T cell receptor-activated MAP kinase pathway. However, the PTMs of Bcl11b in thymocytes from other developmental stages in the thymus, primarily double-negative (DN) cells, have not been previously identified.
