This study investigates the potential of Talaromyces adpressus TCPF to enhance phosphate recovery and nutrient bioavailability from sewage sludge ash (SSA) and fish meal (FM) through co-fermentation. The fungal treatment was found to significantly increase phosphate recovery, achieving up to 16 % efficiency, especially at a 10 g/L waste concentration. The key mechanism behind this enhancement is the production of low molecular weight organic acids (LMWOAs), which played a crucial role in solubilizing nutrients while also mitigating the negative effects of heavy metals like lead and cadmium.

The synthesis and characterization of a novel titania/silica hybrid xerogel subsequently modified with 4-methylpyridine (4-Pic), named TiSi4PicCl is reported. Methods: Fifty-three children, 4-17 years old, scheduled for HSCT in Sweden were included and randomized to OC or control using a computer-generated list. OC instructions were to cool the mouth with ice for as long as possible during chemotherapy infusions with an intended time of ≥ 30 min.

Allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT) improves event-free survival in acute myeloid leukemia (AML); however, the burden of late effects may be increased. We compared health-related outcomes in childhood AML survivors treated according to the NOPHO-AML protocols either with or without allo-HSCT at age < 21 years. Out of the 147 eligible AML survivors treated with allo-HSCT, 95 (65%) and 53 (75%) of their eligible siblings completed a questionnaire.
