We retrospectively reviewed 39 distal metaphyseal radius fractures in children. This study compares the results of closed reduction with or without percutaneous pinning. Twenty-four fractures were treated by closed reduction and above-elbow cast immobilisation.

Lateral epicondylitis (tennis elbow) is the most frequent type of myotendinosis and can be responsible for substantial pain and loss of function of the affected limb. Tennis biomechanics, player characteristics and equipment are important in preventing the condition. This article presents an overview of the current knowledge on lateral epicondylitis, and focuses on treatment strategies.

In 40 patients undergoing arthroscopic subacromial decompression, we monitored the soft tissue pressure in the paratracheal region and in the deltoid and supraspinatus muscles, looking for evidence of a potentially dangerous rise in pressure, especially in the paratracheal region. Statistical analysis was used to determine predictable variables of the time of reaching maximum pressure in and between the three regions. Deltoid pressure rose quickly during surgery, and did not drop to baseline levels at the end of surgery.
