Objective: Use of the supraclavicular artery island flap (SCAIF) in head and neck reconstruction has increased in recent years. Limited but improving experience among reconstructive surgeons with the procedure have exposed numerous issues associated with flap success. The objective of this study was to assess the association of sociodemographic factors with perioperative health care utilization for pediatric CSOM patients.
Methods: We conducted a review on pediatric CSOM patients (≤18 years old) who underwent tympanoplasty with/without mastoidectomy between 2010 and 2020.

- The study investigated the effects of 7 days of betalain-rich beetroot concentrate (BLN) on cycling performance and related physiological responses in trained male cyclists.
- Results showed that BLN supplementation improved average power output and exercise efficiency during a 30-minute cycling time trial, but did not significantly affect other blood markers or inflammatory markers.
- The findings suggest that while BLN has modest benefits for cycling performance, it does not alter levels of plasma nitrites or other blood-related biomarkers.
