Ironsand is an abundant and inexpensive magnetic mineral resource. However, the magnetic properties of unprocessed ironsand are often inadequate for any practical applications. In this work, the applicability of ironsand for use as a component in a soft magnetic composite for large-scale inductive power transfer applications was investigated.

Hourly-resolved PM and PM samples were collected in the industrial city Foshan in the Pearl River Delta region, China. The samples were subsequently analyzed for elemental components and black carbon (BC). A key purpose of the study was to understand the composition of particulate matter (PM) at high-time resolution in a polluted urban atmosphere to identify key components contributing to extreme PM concentration events and examine the diurnal chemical concentration patterns for air quality management purposes.

Unlabelled: Particulate matter (PM) sources at four different monitoring sites in Alexandra, New Zealand, were investigated on an hourly timescale. Three of the sites were located on a horizontal transect, upwind, central, and downwind of the general katabatic flow pathway. The fourth monitoring site was located at the central site, but at a height of 26 m, using a knuckleboom, when wind conditions permitted.
