The complicated diaphragmatic hernia of traumatic origin, is a life-threatening condition. In most cases, the diaphragmatic rupture is caused by blunt trauma that affects the chest or abdomen, but penetrating wounds may represent also an etiological factor. Various congenital anomalies, organ transpositions impose special demands on building up the diagnosis; the mirror image of the abdominal organs tests the skills of the surgeon. We report a case of a 68 year old female patient, with a known situs inversus totalis, who underwent a laparoscopic cholecystectomy. We discuss our diagnostic steps (such as US, ERCP and EST), the variation of maneuvers used during the operation.

In a 52-year-old women suffering in Recklinghausen's disease, operated for acute abdomen, subserous neurinomas and neurofibroma were found on the jejunum and in the mesentery. Gastrointestinal tumors (neurofibroma, GIST, carcinoid etc.) should be considered in patients with Recklinghausen's disease and gastrointestinal symptoms.

The authors describe a tumor localized next to the left adrenal gland. On histological examination the lipid-rich tumor was found to be partly a solid adrenocortical adenoma and partly a tubular oncocytoma.
