In soft devices, complex actuation sequences and precise force control typically require hard electronic valves and microcontrollers. Existing designs for entirely soft pneumatic control systems are capable of either digital or analog operation, but not both, and are limited by speed of actuation, range of pressure, time required for fabrication, or loss of power through pull-down resistors. A semimechanistic pharmacokinetic (PK)/receptor occupancy (RO) model was constructed to differentiate a next generation anti-NKG2A monoclonal antibody (KSQ mAb) from monalizumab, an immune checkpoint inhibitor in multiple clinical trials for the treatment of solid tumors. A three-compartment model incorporating drug PK, biodistribution, and NKG2A receptor interactions was parameterized using monalizumab PK, in vitro affinity measurements for both monalizumab and KSQ mAb, and receptor burden estimates from the literature. Following calibration against monalizumab PK data in patients with rheumatoid arthritis, the model successfully predicted the published PK and RO observed in gynecological tumors and in patients with squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck.

Using molecular dynamics simulations, we analyze ion separation and water purification through a piston-driven graphene/carbon-nanotube filter in the presence of an external electric field. Three different magnitudes of electric field are applied along the nanotube's axial direction with the goal of separating sodium and chloride ions in a NaCl aqueous solution. This Letter presents the results from pointlike neutrino source searches using ten years of IceCube data collected between April 6, 2008 and July 10, 2018. We evaluate the significance of an astrophysical signal from a pointlike source looking for an excess of clustered neutrino events with energies typically above ∼1  TeV among the background of atmospheric muons and neutrinos. We perform a full-sky scan, a search within a selected source catalog, a catalog population study, and three stacked Galactic catalog searches.

High-energy neutrino emission has been predicted for several short-lived astrophysical transients including gamma-ray bursts (GRBs), core-collapse supernovae with choked jets, and neutron star mergers. IceCube's optical and x-ray follow-up program searches for such transient sources by looking for two or more muon neutrino candidates in directional coincidence and arriving within 100 s. The measured rate of neutrino alerts is consistent with the expected rate of chance coincidences of atmospheric background events and no likely electromagnetic counterparts have been identified in Swift follow-up observations.
