Importance: In the US, Latine patients disproportionately experience severe psoriasis, limited access to care, and poor disease-related quality of life. However, little is known about psoriasis in this growing US population.

In the setting of a learning collaborative, we conducted an international multicenter phase 2 clinical trial testing the hypothesis that nonmyeloablative-related haploidentical bone marrow transplant (BMT) with thiotepa and posttransplant cyclophosphamide (PTCy) will result in 2-year event-free survival (no graft failure or death) of at least 80%. Objective: The purpose of this study was to provide new insight into common barriers to the availability and use of nutrition education (NE) resources in Head Start preschool programs based on administrator and teacher perceptions.

Methods: In-depth, semistructured phone interviews (n = 63) were conducted with administrators (n = 31) and teachers (n = 32) from North Carolina-based Head Start programs. Interviews were audio-recorded and transcribed verbatim.

This paper examines racial differences in trends and predictors of prone and lateral infant sleep positioning among South Carolina mothers and infants. Pregnancy Risk Assessment Monitoring System data were used to analyze linear trends in prone, lateral, and supine infant sleep positioning among 14,648 mother-infant pairs from 1996 to 2007. Logistic regression models were used to examine the predictors of prone and lateral positioning among 9,015 mother-infant pairs from 2000 to 2007.

Androgens have been used in the treatment of bone marrow failure syndromes without a clear understanding of their mechanism of action. Blood counts of patients with dyskeratosis congenita or aplastic anemia with mutations in telomerase genes can improve with androgen therapy. Here we observed that exposure in vitro of normal peripheral blood lymphocytes and human bone marrow-derived CD34(+) cells to androgens increased telomerase activity, coincident with higher TERT mRNA levels.

Perceived freedom-responsibility covariation among Cypriot adolescents.

Participants were 67 Cypriot adolescents who responded to propositions regarding positive, negative, and noncontingent relations between freedom and responsibility. The authors framed items so that half dealt with freedom given responsibility, and the other half dealt with responsibility given freedom. Results indicated participants were more likely to endorse positive-contingency items than they were negative and noncontingency items when items were framed around freedom given responsibility.
