This article details a pedagogical approach to training graduate social work students in tech-health equity, emphasizing technology access as a fundamental human right. A tech-health training taxonomy was developed for a new social work course, aiming to equip students with macro-level skills to support equitable client access to telehealth. The training program was designed to illuminate and cultivate digital citizenship, an essential competency for advancing health equity and inclusivity among disadvantaged populations.

Yet questions remain pertaining to the effect of digital cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) on reducing alcohol and drug use.

Effect of Supplemental Oxygen on Physiological Responses to Exercise in Fibrotic Interstitial Lung Disease.

Purpose: We studied the effect of O 2 supplementation on physiological response to exercise in patients with moderate to severe interstitial lung disease (ILD).

Methods: Thirteen patients (age 66 ± 10 yr, 7 males) with ILD (total lung capacity, 71% ± 22% predicted; carbon monoxide diffusion capacity, 44% ± 16% predicted) and 13 healthy individuals (age 50 ± 17 yr, 7 males) were tested. ILD patients performed symptom-limited cardiopulmonary exercise tests and constant work rate (WR) tests at 80% of the WR at the gas exchange threshold.

The Impact of Online and Offline Social Support on the Mental Health of Carers of Persons with Cognitive Impairments.

The carers of persons with cognitive impairments, including Alzheimer's have migrated to online platforms to seek help, yet studies on the use of online social support within the context of caregiving are underdeveloped. Guided by the social support theory, we examined the association of online and offline social support with depression and anxiety in the United States. Using a subsample from the 2017 and 2018 Health Information National Trends Survey ( = 264), we conducted ordered logistic regression to test mediation and moderation effects, which revealed that only offline, not online social support had a direct association with carers' mental health.

The Salicaceae, including Populus and Salix, are dioecious perennials that utilize different sex determination systems. This family provides a useful system to better understand the evolution of dioecy and sex chromosomes. Here, a rare monoecious genotype of Salix purpurea, 94003, was self- and cross-pollinated and progeny sex ratios were used to test hypotheses on possible mechanisms of sex determination.

Genotyping-by-sequencing was used to identify single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) and assess population diversity of isolates collected from three breeding populations in Geneva, NY between 2015 and 2020.

Within the genus Salix, there are approximately 350 species native primarily to the northern hemisphere and adapted to a wide range of habitats. This diversity can be exploited to mine novel alleles conferring variation important for production as a bioenergy crop, but also to identify evolutionarily important genes, such as those involved in sex determination. To leverage this diversity, we created a mapping population by crossing 6 Salix species (Salix viminalis, Salix suchowensis, Salix integra, Salix koriyanagi, Salix udensis, and Salix alberti) to common male and female Salix purpurea parents.

Too Much Too Late? Chemotherapy Administration at the End of Life: A Retrospective Observational Study.

Purpose: Cancer treatment for those nearing death has become increasingly aggressive over time despite evidence that less aggressive approaches are associated with better quality of life and sometimes longer survival. Chemotherapy administration in the last 14 days of life is one of the proposed benchmarks for quality of cancer care. The purpose of our study is to evaluate factors associated with aggressive cancer treatment in patients who died within 2 weeks of receiving chemotherapy.

Are systolic velocity duplex metrics negatively affected by flow aliasing in areas of critical internal carotid artery stenosis.

: Duplex scanning is a useful noninvasive screening tool for the detection of carotid bifurcation disease. Internal carotid artery (ICA) peak systolic velocity (PSV) and ICA/common carotid artery (CCA) PSV ratios are proven metrics determining 70%-99% ICA stenosis. A potential disadvantage of using dramatically increasing systolic velocity measurements in areas of critical arterial stenosis is flow aliasing.

Introduction: Men and women joining the military undergo the same training, often in mixed-sex platoons. Given the inherent physiological and physical performance differences between men and women, it is reasonable to question whether sex differences exist in the adaptation to military training and, therefore, whether sex-specific training should be employed to optimise training adaptations.
