Objective: The goal of this research was to demonstrate the efficacy of telemedicine via design, implementation and evaluation of a web-based remote patient monitoring system (WB-RPMS) across the tertiary/university teaching hospitals in a developing country Nigeria, as a tool to continue to expand access to an affordable and resilient tertiary healthcare system through the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic or any future disruptions.
Methods: This research employed an agile and human-centred design thinking philosophy, which saw the researchers iteratively collaborate with clinicians across the system development value chain. It also employed qualitative and quantitative research methods for new system evaluations.
Background: Tissue necrosis from pentazocine abuse is becoming a burden in our environment. Pentazocine is an opioid of the benzomorphan class. It is commonly used for post-traumatic and postoperative pain and vaso-occlusive pain of sickle cell disease (SCD).

Methodology: This study was conducted in Enugu, Nigeria using a validated structured questionnaire randomly administered to drivers in different locations in the city. Study period was 2 months and different forms of distraction while driving were tested.
Wounds with exposed bone pose a significant challenge in healing. Negative pressure wound therapy has simplified reconstructive options. In economically constrained regions, this has been modified with materials that are affordable.

Fatalities from perinatal asphyxia remain high in developing countries, and continually assessing its risk factors will help improve outcomes in these settings. We explored how some identified risk factors predict mortality in asphyxiated newborns, to assist clinicians in prioritizing interventions. This was a 4-year prospective study conducted at the Enugu State University Teaching Hospital, Enugu, Nigeria.

The purpose of this study, therefore, is to assess the influence of educational status on attitude towards informed consent practice in three south-eastern Nigerian communities.
Methods: Responses from consenting adult participants from three randomly selected communities in Enugu State, southeast Nigeria were obtained using self-/interviewer-administered questionnaire.
