Article Synopsis
  • The study investigated the effects of long-term pesticide exposure (≥5 years) on blood and biochemical parameters in female farm workers, comparing them to a non-exposed reference group.
  • Results showed that pesticide-exposed women had lower red cell corpuscular volume and hematocrit values but higher mean corpuscular hemoglobin concentration and platelet counts than those in the reference group.
  • The study also found significant changes in serum enzymes and suggested that occupational pesticide exposure could predict alterations in enzyme activity and other biochemical changes, highlighting the need for additional research.
