Mae Hong Son Province in Thailand has high rates of malaria, prompting local health initiatives to educate residents on risk factors and symptoms of the disease.
A study was conducted in two villages to assess malaria and enterobiasis infections among the population, screening 195 individuals for malaria and 69 children for E. vermicularis.
Findings showed two malaria cases and a 7% infection rate of E. vermicularis in children, suggesting that the health education efforts are effectively reducing infection rates in the community.
