Introduction: Although the importance of leader-member relationships in teamwork is acknowledged in literature, a deeper understanding of this relationship is lacking, especially in rural areas. The impact of leader-member relationships on team outcomes is especially important in rural Chinese hospitals as improving teamwork forms a national health reform priority in these hospitals. This study investigates how leader-member relationships (ie leader-member perceived similarity and power distance orientation) influence team outcomes (ie perceived quality of care and job satisfaction) via speaking up and silence.

Do generational diversity and perceived similarity improve team functioning in rural Chinese hospitals? A cross-sectional survey study.

Objectives: Generational diversity, increasingly prominent in the composition of the healthcare workforce in rapidly developing countries, has received much attention in practice and research recently. While research has revealed various positive and negative impacts of generational diversity on team functioning, the understanding of the mechanism explaining how generational diversity influences team functioning is still limited. This study in rural Chinese hospitals examines the relationship between (surface-level) generational diversity and (deep-level) perceived similarity and investigates how they influence three teamwork behaviours that importantly determine quality of care, namely speaking up, silence and knowledge sharing.

Disentangling the Conformational Space and Structural Preferences of Tetrahydrofurfuryl Alcohol Using Rotational Spectroscopy and Computational Chemistry.

The influence of the hydroxymethyl (CHOH) group on the tetrahydrofuran (THF) ring structure was investigated by disentangling the gas phase conformational landscape of the sugar analogue tetrahydrofurfuryl alcohol (THFA). By combining rotational spectroscopy (6-20 GHz) and quantum chemical calculations, transitions corresponding to two stable conformers of THFA and their C isotopologues were observed and assigned in the rotational spectrum. The positions of the C atoms were precisely determined to unambiguously distinguish between nearly isoenergetic pairs of conformers that differ in their ring configurations: envelope (E) versus twist (T).

Identifying Differences in Frames of Reference That Are Hard to Reconcile During the Process of Normative Integration to Deliver Care for People with Multiple Problems: A Mixed-Method Delphi Study in the Netherlands.

Background: Integrated care is enhanced by integration on system, organizational, professional, and clinical levels including functional and normative integration. Many studies have been done on functional integration on these different levels, less studies focus on how normative integration takes place. In this study, we focus on the question: what differences in frames of refence must be addressed to establish consensus on appropriate care for People with Multiple Problems?

Methods: A mixed-method Delphi study was carried out in which professionals and managers regularly involved in care for people with multiple problems (PWMPs) worked towards consensus on appropriate care delivery through the assessment of 15 vignettes representing real trajectories of PWMPs.

Background: Distribution of mAbs into tumour tissue may occur via different processes contributing differently to the Zr-mAb uptake on PET. Target-specific binding in tumours is of main interest; however, non-specific irreversible uptake may also be present, which influences quantification. The aim was to investigate the presence of non-specific irreversible uptake in tumour tissue using Patlak linearization on Zr-immuno-PET data of biopsy-proven target-negative tumours.

How to obtain the image-derived blood concentration from Zr-immuno-PET scans.

Background: PET scans using zirconium-89 labelled monoclonal antibodies (Zr-mAbs), known as Zr-immuno-PET, are made to measure uptake in tumour and organ tissue. Uptake is related to the supply of Zr-mAbs in the blood. Measuring activity concentrations in blood, however, requires invasive blood sampling.

Exploring the conformational landscape, hydrogen bonding, and internal dynamics in the diallyl ether and diallyl sulfide monohydrates.

The conformational spaces of the diallyl ether (DAE) and diallyl sulfide (DAS) monohydrates were explored using rotational spectroscopy from 6 to 19 GHz. Calculations at the B3LYP-D3(BJ)/aug-cc-pVTZ level suggested significant differences in their conformational behavior, with DAE-w exhibiting 22 unique conformers and DAS-w featuring three stable structures within 6 kJ mol-1. However, only transitions from the lowest energy conformer of each were experimentally observed.

Objectives: Although many studies have explored the benefits of support giving or receiving for older people, little is known about how the balance between giving and receiving instrumental support in nonrelative relationships affects home-dwelling older people. This study examines the relationship between long-term support balance and subjective well-being in relationships with nonrelatives among older people across 11 European countries.

Methods: A total of 4,650 participants aged 60 years and older from 3 waves of the Survey of Health and Retirement in Europe were included.

Clinical leadership plays an important role in stimulating coordination both within and between specialty groups, which results in better outcomes in terms of job satisfaction and quality of care.

Purpose: In this light, this study aims to understand the relation between physicians' clinical leadership and outcomes, focusing on the sequential mediation of relationships and coordination with physicians within their own medical specialty group and from other specialties.

Factors and interventions determining the functioning of health care teams in county-level hospitals in less affluent areas of China: a qualitative study.

Background: Teamwork is essential for the quality and safety of care, and research on teamwork in health care has developed rapidly in many countries. However, evidence from less affluent, non-Western countries is scarce, while improving teamwork may be especially relevant to be able to increase the quality of care in these settings. This study aims to understand the main factors that influence, and interventions used to improve, the functioning of health care teams in the context of county-level hospitals in less affluent areas of China.

Exploring the distinct conformational preferences of allyl ethyl ether and allyl ethyl sulfide using rotational spectroscopy and computational chemistry.

The conformational energy landscapes of allyl ethyl ether (AEE) and allyl ethyl sulfide (AES) were investigated using Fourier transform microwave spectroscopy in the frequency range of 5-23 GHz aided by density functional theory B3LYP-D3(BJ)/aug-cc-pVTZ calculations. The latter predicted highly competitive equilibria for both species, including 14 unique conformers of AEE and 12 for the sulfur analog AES within 14 kJ mol-1. The experimental rotational spectrum of AEE was dominated by transitions arising from its three lowest energy conformers, which differ in the arrangement of the allyl side chain, while in AES, transitions due to the two most stable forms, distinct in the orientation of the ethyl group, were observed.

Methods: As part of EMPOWER-GR, a cross-sectional survey among geriatric rehabilitation health care professionals working in the Netherlands was undertaken between September 23, 2020, and January 28, 2021.

Purpose: Positron emission tomography imaging of zirconium-89-labelled monoclonal antibodies (Zr-Immuno-PET) allows for visualisation and quantification of antibody uptake in tumours in vivo. Patlak linearization provides distribution volume (V) and nett influx rate (K) values, representing reversible and irreversible uptake, respectively. Standardised uptake value (SUV) and tumour-to-plasma/tumour-to-blood ratio (TPR/TBR) are often used, but their validity depends on the comparability of plasma kinetics and clearances.
