"Access to healthcare is a human right": a constructivist study exploring the impact and potential of a hospital-community partnered COVID-19 community response team for Toronto homeless services and congregate living settings.

Background: Individuals experiencing homelessness face unique physical and mental health challenges, increased morbidity, and premature mortality. COVID -19 creates a significant heightened risk for those living in congregate sheltering spaces. In March 2020, the COVID-19 Community Response Team formed at Women's College Hospital, to support Toronto shelters and congregate living sites to manage and prevent outbreaks of SARS-CoV-2 using a collaborative model of onsite mobile testing and infection prevention.

[In-hospital triage in 2022].

The in-hospital triage is the first step to every emergency department visit, and it is considered the main tool for matching medical and nursing resources to an exploding demand for care. In the current organization of care, triage is done by a triage nurse who can in certain situations request medical advice. However, given the increase in the number of visits to the emergency room, the heterogeneity of the demand of care and the perception of patients as to their needs, the role of a medical-nursing tandem is taking shape.

Delivering collaborative mental health care within supportive housing: implementation evaluation of a community-hospital partnership.

Background: Approaches to address unmet mental health care needs in supportive housing settings are needed. Collaborative approaches to delivering psychiatric care have robust evidence in multiple settings, however such approaches have not been adequately studied in housing settings. This study evaluates the implementation of a shifted outpatient collaborative care initiative in which a psychiatrist was added to existing housing, community mental health, and primary care supports in a women-centered supportive housing complex in Toronto, Canada.

Calcified Leiomyoma of the Distal Forearm in a Child: A Case Report and Review of Literature.

Background: Deep somatic leiomyomas arising in skeletal muscle are extremely rare in children, especially in the extremities. Around half of them show calcifications. We present a rare case of a calcified leiomyoma of the distal forearm in a child.

[Nausea and vomiting in pregnancy].

Nausea and vomiting in early pregnancy is a common condition at risk to be minimized by women or care providers. If not treated in the early stages, it can evolve to a severe condition with a morbidity risk for the mother and/or the fetus, and expose to public health consequences. Early effects of a 'train the trainer' approach to Ponseti method dissemination: a case study of Sri Lanka.

Background: The Ponseti method has been established as the standard of care for the treatment of clubfoot in many developed countries for its utility, cost-effectiveness, and efficiency. However, despite its being described as the gold-standard for clubfoot treatment, there are still many areas of the world bereft in formal training in the Ponseti method. This is especially important since 80% of patients with clubfoot are born in developing countries where the need is the greater for experienced providers.
