Intestinal parasitic infections (IPIs), caused by helminths and/or protozoa, continue to be a significant public health concern in Indonesia. Water access, sanitation, and hygiene practices (WASH) are influential factors for IPIs, especially among children. The aim of this study was to investigate the association between WASH and IPIs among school-aged children.

This study explores the effect of preheating on the toughness of dissimilar welded joints between AISI 1037 and AISI 304 steels, using Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) and E309-16 electrodes. The innovation of this approach lies in assessing how preheating temperatures influence the mechanical properties of such welds. Preheating temperatures ranged from 150 °C to 300 °C, with impact testing revealing a notable increase in toughness, from 6.

Although most BCCs are amenable to local treatment, there are limited therapeutic options for surgically unresectable locally advanced and metastatic BCCs. Activation of the sonic hedgehog signalling pathway plays a significant role in the development of most BCCs.

Purpose: This study aims to investigate the conceptual relationship between full-range leadership theory (FRLT) and patient safety culture in primary care settings, aiming to understand how leadership styles influence the development and sustainability of a culture prioritizing patient safety.
Design/methodology/approach: Using a conceptual analysis approach, the study builds a theoretical framework that integrates FRLT - which includes transformational, transactional and laissez-faire leadership styles - with the elements of patient safety culture. This framework serves as the basis for a comprehensive literature review, allowing for the formulation of hypotheses regarding the impact of each leadership style on patient safety culture.
A breast cancer risk assessment tool for Asian populations, incorporating Polygenic Risk Score and Gail Model algorithm, has been established and validated. However, effective methods for delivering personalized risk information remain underexplored. This study aims to identify and develop effective methods for conveying breast cancer risk information to Asian women.

We aimed to investigate the use of M2BPGi as a single or combined diagnostic modality for liver fibrosis in CHB patients through a stepwise diagnostic analysis.
Methods: Cross-sectional data were taken from patients between October 2021 and August 2022.
Formwork refers to a temporary structure or mold that is used to hold concrete in place from the moment it is poured until it reaches the desired level of strength. Efficient utilization of formwork is a crucial aspect to take into account. This study aims to analyze the costs related to column, beam, and floor slab formwork by employing value engineering.

Methods: This study employs a mixed-methods approach with sequential exploratory designs. Qualitative research utilized in-depth interviews with informants including the head of the community health center, nutrition officers from the health center, the coordinator of Maternal and Child Health (MCH) midwives, village midwives, breastfeeding mothers, families of breastfeeding mothers, and health cadres.
The Cikijing River is one of the rivers of the Citarik River Basin, which empties into the Citarum River and crosses Bandung Regency and Sumedang Regency, Indonesia. One of the uses of the Cikijing River is as a source of irrigation for rice fields in the Rancaekek area, but the current condition of the water quality of the Cikijing river has decreased, mainly due to the disposal of wastewater from the Rancaekek industrial area which is dominated by industry in the textile and textile products sector. This study aims to determine the potential ecological risks and water quality of the Cikijing River based on the content of heavy metals (Cr, Cu, Pb, and Zn).

There is a lack of high-quality evidence to direct therapy for VLP. This randomised controlled trial will be the first double-blinded study comparing systemic treatments in VLP and aims to investigate the safety and efficacy of deucravacitinib compared to methotrexate, in patients with VLP who have failed treatment with potent topical corticosteroids.

Background: This study analyzed pregnancy outcomes in postpartum women who were infected with COVID-19 during their pregnancy in resource-limited settings during the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Materials And Methods: This cross-sectional study included all pregnant women with COVID-19 at a tertiary referral hospital in Surabaya, Indonesia, from June to August 2021. Patients were classified according to clinical presentation into asymptomatic-mild, moderate, and severe-critical.
Objective: The objectives of this research were to screen the anti-quorum sensing and antibiofilm activity of marine actinobacteria, isolated from several aquatic environments in Indonesia against several pathogenic bacteria, such as Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus cereus, Enterococcus faecalis, Vibrio cholerae, Salmonella Typhimurium, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
Results: Ten out of 40 actinobacteria were found to have anti-quorum sensing activity against wild-type Chromobacterium violaceum (ATCC 12472); however, the validation assay showed that only eight of 10 significantly inhibited the quorum sensing system of Chromobacterium violaceum CV026. The crude actinobacteria extracts inhibited and disrupted biofilm formation produced by pathogens.
Purpose: H. capsulatum is endemic in Indonesia, but the value of Histoplasma antigen detection has not been studied.
Patients And Methods: Histoplasma galactomannan (GM) ELISA was applied to sera of patients with unproven pulmonary tuberculosis (TB) and patients with a positive Aspergillus GM.
Candidemia is the most common form of invasive fungal infection associated with several risk factors, and one of them is the use of medical devices, to which microbial biofilms can attach. Candidemia related to the use of peripheral intravascular and central venous catheters (CVC) is referred to as catheter-related bloodstream infection, with more than 90% being related to CVC usage. The infection is associated with a higher morbidity and mortality rate than nosocomial bacterial infections.

Methods: A prospective cross-sectional study of patients attending a dermato-gynaecology practice in Sydney, Australia, comparing VLS patients with good quality of life (gQOL) and pQOL, in pre-treatment and long-term treatment groups, using the Vulval Quality of Life Index (VQLI). Demographics, VQLI scores and treatment characteristics were compared between gQOL and pQOL patients.
Background/objectives: To compare the quality of life in patients with vulval lichen sclerosus (VLS), vulval lichen planus (VLP) and chronic vulvovaginal candidiasis (CVVC), as measured by the Vulval Quality of Life Index (VQLI).
Methods: A retrospective, single-centre cohort study was conducted at a combined dermatology and gynaecology practice from March 2018 to November 2021. VQLI scores and patient data were systematically collected and recorded in an online patient database.
