View Article and Find Full Text PDFBackground: Risk factors for non-communicable diseases (NCDs, cardiovascular diseases, cancers, chronic respiratory diseases, diabetes, and mental disorders) arise in adolescence but are mostly framed as relevant to health in adulthood; little is known about the relationship between co-occurring NCD risks and mental wellbeing in young people. This study aims to describe the prevalence and co-occurrence of distinct NCD risk factors, and how they relate to current mental wellbeing amongst adolescents in Indonesia, a young and populous country where NCD burden is increasing rapidly.
Methods: We assessed NCD risk and mental wellbeing amongst 1,331 school-based 16-18-year-olds in Jakarta (N = 609) and South Sulawesi (N = 722).

Objective: The self-report Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire (SDQ) is widely used globally; hence, the validity of the intergroup comparisons is essential. This study examined the structure of the self-report SDQ in a large multinational adolescent sample, tested its measurement invariance across genders and countries, and compared youth mental health in 12 European and Asian countries.
Method: This study is part of the Eurasian Child Mental Health Study (EACMHS), a cross-cultural research study of child and adolescent well-being and mental health in 12 Asian and European countries.
Objectives: Epilepsy is a common chronic neurological disorder in pediatrics. Depression is an often underdetected comorbidity in childhood epilepsy. A total of 661 outpatients from a clinical psychology office in Jakarta, Indonesia, participated in the study. The complete PHQ was administered, and its results were compared with diagnoses made by clinical psychologists based on ICD-11 criteria, including somatoform disorder (n = 6), depression (n = 117), Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD, n = 50), panic disorder (n = 42), bulimia nervosa (n = 2), binge eating disorder (n = 2), and other diagnoses such as OCD and BPD (n = 442).

Objective: Inconsistency in the quality of forensic psychiatry report has been criticized for several years. Method: A cross-sectional study was conducted with 246 general psychiatrists.
This study compares the Empathy Quotient (EQ) and Systemizing Quotient (SQ) scores of elementary school children with and without ADHD. The study also examined their brain types and, because sex plays a big role in empathy and systemizing ability, compared the results of the boys and girls. This cross-sectional study involved 122 participants, including 61 parents of children with ADHD and 61 parents of children without ADHD.
