[Tobacco smoking as a risk factor for oral cancer].

The study involved 254 patients with primary oral cancer. The analysis of prevalence, duration and intensity of smoking habit was carried out both in cases and control group. The prevalence of smoking was significantly more frequent in cases than in controls.
