We present a three-color femtosecond Er/Yb:fiber laser enabling highly specific and standardized nonlinear optical manipulation of live cells. The system simultaneously provides bandwidth-limited 80-fs pulses with identical intensity envelope centered at wavelengths of 515, 775, and 1035 nm in the focus of a confocal microscope. We achieve this goal by combining high-order dispersion control via, for example, chirped fiber Bragg gratings with proper bandwidth management in each nonlinear conversion step.

Folliculotropic mycosis fungoides (FMF) is a distinct variant of mycosis fungoides (MF) where atypical T-cells invade the hair follicles. The objective was to assess the clinical features, risk factors for progression, long-term outcome and response to treatment modalities in a large cohort of FMF patients. We, therefore, conducted a single-center retrospective study, reviewing 114 patients with FMF seen from 1987 to 2015 at the cutaneous T-cell lymphoma clinic of the MD Anderson Cancer Center.

Granulomatous mycosis fungoides (GMF) is a rare form of mycosis fungoides (MF) characterized by an infiltrate of atypical lymphocytes, histiocytes, and multinucleated giant cells. Clinically, GMF has a slowly progressing course with a worse prognosis than other forms of MF. With its peak incidence being in the fifth to sixth decade, GMF is rare in children and adolescents.

Primary cutaneous CD30(+) lymphoproliferative disorders are the second most common group of cutaneous T-cell lymphomas (CTCL) and include lymphomatoid papulosis (LyP) and primary cutaneous anaplastic large T-cell lymphoma (cALCL). Both disease entities share overlapping clinical, histopathological, and molecular features, thus representing a spectrum of cutaneous CD30(+) lymphoproliferative disorders. LyP may be distinguished from cALCL by clinicopathological correlation.

Objectives: To evaluate changes in ductus venosus (DV) waveforms and the timing of these changes in twin-twin transfusion syndrome (TTTS), to relate these to disease severity and to assess the clinical applicability of the suggested measurements in the prediction of TTTS.

Methods: DV time intervals and velocity-time integrals (VTI) normalized to cardiac cycle and total VTI, respectively, as well as velocity ratios were analyzed in 149 monochorionic diamniotic (MCDA) twin pairs. Pregnancies were assigned to the following groups: uncomplicated MCDA (n = 29); TTTS Stages I+II (n = 50); TTTS Stages III+IV (n = 49); and pre-TTTS (n = 21), of which 14 remained stable and seven progressed to TTTS.

Objective: Adverse childhood experiences, such as maltreatment, and affective disorders are associated with a proinflammatory state and/or variably compromised counts in lymphocyte subsets in adults. Animal models of social stress indicate that recent thymic emigrant cells (RTE), which maintain the T-cell compartment, are affected.

Little is known about bacteria associated with asymptomatic bacteriuria (ABU) with regard to urinary tract colonization mechanisms. In this study, virulence properties of Escherichia coli 83972, a strain that was isolated from a clinical ABU episode, were examined. The genetic potential for expression of P and type 1 pili was demonstrated, and DNA sequences related to type 1C and G (UCA) pilus genes were also detected.

Four cases of homicide, in which silenced firearms were used, are reported and supplemented by data from experimental investigations regarding wound features, marks, traces, and ballistic behavior. Wound features are largely determined by the construction of the silencer. In one case, even a muzzle imprint was produced by a silenced weapon fired at contact range.
