The effect of familiality on clinical presentation and survival in mammary carcinoma.

In a series of 467 patients treated for mammary carcinoma 96 (20%) had a family history for this tumour. Sixty-eight (71%) had at least one first degree, 28 (29%) a second or third degree family member. Only the mean age of the second degree relative group differed significantly from that of the non-familial group.
