Objective: To quantify acute immunologic and metabolic responses of beef heifers following topical administration of transdermal flunixin meglumine (TDFM) at various times relative to bovine herpesvirus 1 (BHV1) and challenges.
Animals: 32 beef heifers (mean body weight, 170 kg).
Procedures: Heifers were assigned to 1 of 4 groups.

View Article and Find Full Text PDFBackground: In kinematic alignment in TKA, the aim is to match the implant's position to the pre-arthritic anatomy of an individual patient, in contrast to the traditional goal of neutral mechanical alignment. However, there are limited mid-term, comparative data for survivorship and functional outcomes for these two techniques.
Questions/purposes: In the setting of a randomized, controlled trial at 5 years, is there a difference between kinematic alignment and mechanical alignment in TKA in terms of (1) patient-reported outcome measures, (2) survivorship free from revision or reoperation, and (3) the incidence of radiographic aseptic loosening?
Methods: In the initial study, 99 primary TKAs for osteoarthritis were randomized to either the mechanical alignment (n = 50) or kinematic alignment (n = 49) group.
Objective: Numerous patient-reported outcome measures (PROM) exist for the measurement of physical function for psoriatic arthritis (PsA), but only a few are validated comprehensively. The objective of this project was to prioritize PROM for measuring physical function for potential incorporation into a standardized outcome measurement set for PsA.
Methods: A working group of 13 members including 2 patient research partners was formed.
Objective: To determine whether dietary intake of flavonols is associated with Alzheimer dementia.
Methods: The study was conducted among 921 participants of the Rush Memory and Aging Project (MAP), an ongoing community-based, prospective cohort. Participants completed annual neurologic evaluations and dietary assessments using a validated food frequency questionnaire.

The diagnostic criteria for PSP have been updated to encompass a range of clinical subtypes but have not been prospectively studied.
Objective: To define the distinguishing features of PSP and CBS subtypes and to assess their usefulness in facilitating early diagnosis and separation from PD.
Objective: To examine the correlation between urinary and faecal microbial profiles and the different aspects of lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) in men, as there is accumulating evidence that variations in the human microbiota may promote different benign disease conditions.
Patients And Methods: We extracted total DNA from urine and faecal samples of a group of men, under an Institutional Review Board-approved protocol. At the same time, International Prostate Symptom Score (IPSS) data were collected.
Background: Nitrogen (N) fertilization influences plant growth and yield, and may also affect fruit quality. Most centrioles amplified by MCCs grow on the surface of organelles called deuterosomes, whereas a smaller number grow through the centriolar pathway in association with the two parent centrioles.
