Article Synopsis
  • Heterogeneous visible light photocatalysis offers a sustainable method for organic synthesis, but solid-state photocatalysts are often underused due to limited accessibility and unclear relationships between structure and function.
  • A new solid-state conjugated organic polymer, poly-(para-phenylene ethynylene), has been developed which demonstrates strong oxidative power when exposed to visible light, making it highly effective in transforming amines into imines.
  • The study reveals the polymer's superior photocatalytic activity through its fully conjugated structure, and showcases its potential in facilitating efficiently telescoped reactions for producing biologically important compounds.

Sarcomas are rare aggressive malignant tumors of the stromal tissue having a poor prognosis. The relationship between carcinogenesis of sarcomas around foreign bodies has been described in medical literature. The chronic inflammation induced by the foreign body produces oxidative and nitrative stress.

Objective: To assess the usefulness of frozen sections in cone biopsies.

Methods: Retrospective study of 60 cases: 26 without frozen section, from January 1985 to December 1988 (group 1); 34 with frozen section of the endocervical upper part of the cone, from January 1989 to December 1992 (group 2).

Results: The average height of the cone was 1.

Out of a total of 121 hysteroscopies carried out in this unit between December 1981 and June 1984, 26 were operative hysteroscopies. Each of these procedures consisted in removing intra-uterine structures (that could not be removed with a curette) under visual control. All cases had a normal sized or slightly enlarged uterus.
