In this study, we detected the expression levels of miR-21 in 38 clinical urine samples, obtained from 10 patients with PCa (with each sample obtained at three time points: before surgery, 1 month after surgery, and 3 months after surgery), 3 patients with benign prostatic hypertrophy (BPH), and 5 healthy subjects (as a control group). All of the samples were examined using a silver nanoparticle-based biosensor, and the sensitivity of the biosensor was simultaneously confirmed via qRT-PCR. The results were further analyzed together with clinical data such as PSA values and cancer stages.

CbpD, also termed CrfP, is one of the choline-binding proteins (CBPs) that was found as a murein hydrolase in SS2 and plays crucial roles in natural genetic transformation under the control of ComRS-ComX regulatory system by a previous study. Nonetheless, the possible functions of CbpD in virulence and pathogenesis in SS2 remain unclear.

Methods: A total of 260 NSCLC patients were selected and classified into stage I - II (n = 109) and stage III - IV (n = 151) according to by American Joint Committee on Cancer Staging Manual. A control group was established with another 92 healthy subjects.
Objective: This study aimed to examine the relationship between total bilirubin levels and initial ischemic stroke in patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation.
Methods: This was a retrospective study. Atrial fibrillation was diagnosed by 24-hour Holter electrocardiography and serum total bilirubin levels were divided into quintiles.
