Preparation of a high-efficiency, low-cost, and environmentally friendly non-precious metal catalyst for the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) is highly desirable in fuel cells. Herein, a Fe-FeC-functionalized few-layer graphene sheet (Fe/FeC/FLG) nanocomposite was fabricated through the vacuum heat treatment technique using ferric nitrate and glucose as the precursors and exhibited a high-performance ORR electrocatalyst. Multiple characterizations confirm that the nanosized Fe particles with the FeC interface are uniformly distributed in the FLGs.

Many precedents prove that fluorescent probes are promising candidates for detection of metal ions in the environment and biological systems. Herein, two novel photoinduced electron transfer (PET)-based fluorescent probes, and , were rationally synthesized by incorporating a triazolyl benzaldehyde moiety into the rhodamine 6G fluorophore. Two new dual channel Schiff base fluorescent probes, Tri-R6G and Tri-Flu, were synthesized, and can detect Hg and Al, respectively. The two probes were characterized by FTIR, H NMR, C NMR and HRMS, and their optical properties were detected by UV and FL. Test results showed the probes' detection of Hg and Al compared to other metal ions (Ag, Co, Cd, Mg, Cu, Ni, Ba, Pb, Cr, Al, Zn, Hg, K, Ga and Fe), respectively.
