Objective: To analyze the changes in coagulation during the treatment of acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL) and explore the influencing factors of coagulation in patients with APL.
Methods: Data of 166 APL patients admitted to our hospital from November 2018 to May 2023 were retrospectively analyzed, and the changes of various clinical indicators before and during treatment were compared. 166 APL patients were divided into abnormal coagulation group ( =115) and normal coagulation group ( =51) according to whether they experienced coagulation dysfunction.
Background: Meteorin-like (Metrnl) is a newly identified secreted protein that plays important roles in metabolic and inflammation-related diseases. Our study aimed to evaluate serum Metrnl levels and establish their relationship with vascular calcification (VC) in hemodialysis (HD) patients.
Methods: In total, 313 HD patients and 41 healthy individuals, as controls, were included.
Background: Nasopharyngeal malignant tumors were relatively rare head and neck tumors with a low global incidence. There were various pathologic types of nasopharyngeal malignant tumors, and small cell neuroendocrine carcinoma (SCNEC) was a highly malignant subtype with rapid growth and early metastasis. SCNEC was rare in the nasopharynx, and its clinical presentation and treatment strategy were different from other types of nasopharyngeal malignancies, posing a challenge to clinicians.

Milk-derived exosomes, tiny vesicles containing various biological molecules, play crucial roles in numerous pathological and physiological processes, including cell growth, development, and immune regulation. This study delved into the microRNA expression profiles of yak milk-derived exosomes collected from both high- and low-altitude populations using small RNA sequencing.

However, several diseases pose a significant threat to the health of yaks and cause substantial economic losses for herders. Therefore, studying the immune indicators and breeding of yaks has become an important task.

Hydrogel-based dressing materials offer significant potential in expediting skin wound healing. Nevertheless, they face several challenges: poor adhesion to wound tissues, difficulties in preservation under ambient conditions, and limited multifunctionality to support all wound healing stages. In this work, a dry patch is designed to address these persistent issues by featuring an solid-to-gel transformation and Janus wet tissue adhesiveness.

Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) infections pose great challenges to skin wound care due to the severe drug resistance developed in the clinic. There is an urgent need to exploit next-generation bactericidal therapeutics that are both antibiotic-free and multifunctional for enhanced wound healing. Herein, we designed a Ca-crosslinked alginate hydrogel (EcNSIN@Alg) containing two naturally derived bioactive components, probiotics Escherichia coli Nissle1917 (EcN) and Squid ink nanoparticles (SIN), to treat MRSA-infected wounds.

Here, we performed single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) analysis on young and aged murine olfactory epithelium (OE) and identified aging-related differentially expressed genes (DEGs) throughout 21 cell types.

Taste dysfunction causes significant inconvenience in daily life, leading to subhealth and even life-threatening condition. Aging is a major cause to taste dysfunction, while the underlying feature related to gustatory aging is still not known.

Background: Previous studies implied that local M2 polarization of macrophage promoted mucosal edema and exacerbated T2 type inflammation in chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP). However, the specific pathogenic role of M2 macrophages and the intrinsic regulators in the development of CRS remains elusive.
Objective: We sought to investigate the regulatory role of SIRT5 in the polarization of M2 macrophages and its potential contribution to the development of CRSwNP.
Background: More than half of the global population lives in areas at risk of dengue (DENV) transmission. Developing an efficient risk prediction system can help curb dengue outbreaks, but multiple variables, including mosquito-based surveillance indicators, still constrain our understanding. Mosquito or oviposition positive index (MOI) has been utilized in field surveillance to monitor the wild population density of Aedes albopictus in Guangzhou since 2005.

However, there is limited research on the molecular mechanisms responsible for the muscle development of cattle-yak. To address this knowledge gap, a comprehensive transcriptomic survey of the longissimus dorsi muscle in cattle-yak was conducted.

The current diagnostic methods using single indicators, including peripheral blood eosinophils and traditional sinus computed tomography (CT) scores, are not accurate. In this study, we aimed to investigate the diagnostic value of combining peripheral blood eosinophils and improved sinus CT scores for eosinophic chronic rhinosinusitis (ECRS).

The milk composition analyzer, automatic amino acid analyzer, and flavor analyzer were used to detect the conventional nutrients, amino acids, and volatile flavor substances of 249 yak milks in Meiren grassland, Xiahe grassland, and Maqu grassland (hereinafter referred to as Meiren yak, Xiahe yak, and Maqu yak) in the Gannan area. The results showed that the fat content of Meiren yak milk was significantly higher than that of Maqu yak and Xiahe yak ( < 0.

However, chemotherapy drugs often harm taste perception in cancer patients, while the underlying mechanism is still unclear for most drugs and there is no effective way to restore taste function. This study investigated the effects of cisplatin on the taste cell homeostasis and gustatory function.

Methods: The Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) standards were followed for the meta-analysis. We systematically searched Embase, Web of Science, Cochrane Library, CNKI, and PubMed for randomized controlled trials (from inception to August 2022; no language restrictions), comparing the effect of topical TXA and topical vasoconstrictors on the treatment of epistaxis.
Cattle-yak is a hybrid F generation of cattle and yak, which has a history of more than 3000 years and has shown better production performance and higher economic benefits than those of yaks. However, up to now, there has been no study on the transcriptome-wide mA methylation profile of bovine skeletal muscle and its potential biological function during muscle development. Here, we observed significant changes in the expression levels of muscle-related marker genes and methylation-related enzymes during the development of cattle-yak, and the overall mA content in the muscle of 18-month-old cattle-yak decreased significantly.

The molecule interacting with CasL-like protein 2 (MICALL2) gene is primarily associated with mitochondrial protein targeting and exhibits predicted stress fiber colocalization. The monoacylglycerol O-acyltransferase 2 (MOGAT2) gene encodes an enzyme responsible for catalyzing diacylglycerol synthesis from 2-monoacylglycerol and fatty acyl-CoA.
