Objectives: to construct a prediction model for clinically significant prostate cancer (csPCa) based on prostate-specific antigen (PSA) levels, digital rectal examination (DRE), and transrectal ultrasonography (TRUS).

Methods: We retrospectively analysed 1196 Asian patients who underwent transrectal ultrasound-guided biopsy (TRUSB) between June 2000 and February 2023. Patients were randomly divided into a training set of 837 cases (70%) and a validation set of 359 patients (30%).

Since ELL-associated factor 2 (EAF2) was identified in 1997 as an androgen response gene, it has been of medical and scientific interest. Early studies demonstrated the tumor-suppressing function of EAF2 in the prostate. Sequencing studies indicated an association between EAF2 and several other malignant diseases and multiple physiological processes, such as transcription, apoptosis, embryogenesis, and DNA repair.

Objective: To explore the association between atypical small acinar proliferation (ASAP) and subsequent diagnosis of intermediate and high risk prostate cancer (PCa), and analyze whether delaying repeat biopsy timing is safe and effective.

Methods: From June 2000 to June 2022, we retrospectively analyzed the clinical data of 276 patients accepting prostatic biopsy and diagnosed with ASAP in China-Japan Union Hospital of Jilin University. 54.

Article Synopsis
  • Atypical small acinar proliferation (ASAP) is found in about 5% of prostate biopsies, and doctors usually suggest getting another biopsy within 3-6 months.
  • A study looked at many articles to find out if waiting longer for a repeat biopsy is safe and what happens in those cases.
  • The results showed that only about 12% of patients had serious prostate cancer after waiting for the repeat biopsy, suggesting it's okay to wait longer without much risk.

Background: Altered anti-CD25 antibody levels in plasma have been observed in patients with various solid malignancies. The present study aimed to determine whether circulating anti-CD25 antibody levels were altered in bladder cancer (BC).

Methods: An enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay was developed in-house to detect plasma IgG antibodies against three CD25-derived linear peptide antigens in 132 patients with BC and 120 control subjects.

Background: Solitary fibrous tumor (SFT) is a rare spindle cell neoplasm that mostly originates from the pleura, and accounts for only 2% of all soft tissue tumors. Moreover, the cases of SFT of the kidney are rarely reported. Here, we report a typical case of kidney SFT, which was consistent with other reported cases.

We propose a near-infrared (NIR) image reconstruction method based on molecular reorientation of nematic liquid crystals (NLCs) doped with the azo-dye methyl red (MR). The signal can be recovered at the expense of noise via stochastic resonance. The numerical results show that image reconstruction based on the molecular reorientation in a magnetic field can be achieved when the input light intensity is 0.
