Background: Early fluid resuscitation is one of the fundamental treatments for acute pancreatitis (AP), but there is no consensus on the optimal fluid rate. This systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to compare the efficacy and safety of aggressive vs. controlled fluid resuscitation (CFR) in AP.

Purpose: We determined the prognostic value of the systemic inflammation response index (SIRI) in patients with cholangiocarcinoma after surgery and constructed a survival prediction model based on SIRI.

Patients And Methods: We recruited 328 patients with histopathologically confirmed cholangiocarcinoma from 2003 to 2017 and performed Kaplan-Meier survival and Cox analyses to analyze the prognostic value of the SIRI and identify other significant factors. A nomogram involving SIRI and other clinicopathological factors was established based on the training cohort.

Background: The aim of our study was to explore the prognostic significance of the preoperative controlling nutritional status (CONUT) score and establish a nomogram to predict overall survival (OS) and to achieve a more accurate prognostic risk stratification.

Methods: Clinicopathological records of 371 patients who underwent surgical resection for biliary tract cancers (BTC) from December 2002 to December 2017 were reviewed retrospectively. The associations of the CONUT score with clinicopathological factors and OS were evaluated.

Purpose: Platelet-related indices, including mean platelet volume (MPV) and plateletocrit (PCT), have been reported as new prognostic factors of overall survival (OS) in many cancers, but not yet in biliary tract cancer (BTC). We intended to assess these indices in predicting OS in BTC patients with the aim to build a new prognostic model for patients with BTC after surgical resection.

Materials And Methods: Survival analysis and time receiver operating characteristic analysis were applied to screen the platelet indices.

Systemic immune-inflammation index (SII) is considered to be a prognostic marker in several cancers. However, the prognostic value of baseline pre-operative SII in gallbladder carcinoma (GBC) has not been evaluated. This study aimed to determine the prognostic significance of SII and generate a predictive nomogram.

Purpose: The systemic inflammation response index (SIRI) has been reported to have prognostic ability in various solid tumors but has not been studied in gallbladder cancer (GBC). We aimed to determine its prognostic value in GBC.

Materials And Methods: From 2003 to 2017, patients with confirmed GBC were recruited.

Radiomics uses computers to extract a large amount of information from different types of images, form various quantifiable features, and select relevant features using artificial-intelligence algorithms to build models, in order to predict the outcomes of clinical problems (such as diagnosis, treatment, prognosis, etc.). The study of liver diseases by radiomics will contribute to early diagnosis and treatment of liver diseases and improve survival and cure rates of liver diseases.
