The superiority trial of Baduanjin training on patients chronic low back pain: a study protocol for a randomized controlled trial.

Background: CNSLBP accounts for 85% of all LBP cases and impairs physical health, quality of life, and work productivity, posing a significant health and economic burden. Baduanjin (BDJ) exercises are traditional Chinese Qi Gong mind-body exercises that have been practiced for over 1,000 years. However, the standard BDJ protocol established by the State Sports General Administration does not stimulate core muscles, limiting the effectiveness of low back pain rehabilitation.

Development of a sequential release nanomaterial for co-delivery of hypoxia-induced tirapazamine and HIF-1α siRNA in cancer therapy.

Unlike traditional drug carriers, sequential drug delivery systems can release different drugs in order, with the first released drug providing a prerequisite for the later released drug to maximize its function, thereby achieving stronger anti-tumor effects. Herein we constructed a temporal sequential system designated TPZ@MSN/HIF-1α siRNA@PDA@GOx (MTRPG) in which mesoporous silica nanoparticles were used as cores to load hypoxia induced chemotherapy drug tirapazamine (TPZ) and gene targeted nucleic acid drug HIF-1α siRNA, polydopamine (PDA) as acid -responsive coating as well as to realize photothermal therapy, and glucose oxidase (GOx) as the outermost layer to achieve starvation therapy and construct a deepened hypoxia to activate TPZ. Through in vitro and in vivo experiments, we demonstrated that the first released glucose oxidase catalyzed the oxidation of glucose, achieving starvation treatment while reducing the acidic environment and further exacerbating hypoxia in tumor cells.

Progressive enhanced photodynamic therapy and enhanced chemotherapy fighting against malignant tumors with sequential drug release.

During the process of malignant tumor treatment, photodynamic therapy (PDT) exerts poor efficacy due to the hypoxic environment of the tumor cells, and long-time chemotherapy reduces the sensitivity of tumor cells to chemotherapy drugs due to the presence of drug-resistant proteins on the cell membranes for drug outward transportation. Therefore, we reported a nano platform based on mesoporous silica coated with polydopamine (MSN@PDA) loading PDT enhancer MnO, photosensitizer indocyanine green (ICG) and chemotherapeutic drug doxorubicin (DOX) (designated as DMPIM) to achieve a sequential release of different drugs to enhance treatment of malignant tumors. MSN was first synthesized by a template method, then DOX was loaded into the mesoporous channels of MSN, and locked by the PDA coating.

Effects of aerobic exercise on cognitive function in adults with major depressive disorder: A systematic review and meta-analysis.

Background: Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) is a highly prevalent psychiatric disorder that impairs the cognitive function of individuals. Aerobic exercise stands out as a promising non-pharmacological intervention for enhancing cognitive function and promoting brain health.While positive impacts of aerobic exercise on executive function in adults with depression have been documented, a comprehensive understanding of its benefits on overall cognitive function, including memory, attention, and processing speed, along with key moderating factors in adults with MDD, remains unexplored.

Respiratory patterns and physical fitness in healthy adults: a cross-sectional study.

Background: The altered respiratory patterns have a significant impact on our health. However, the links between respiration patterns during spontaneous breathing and physical fitness remain unknown. Therefore, we sought to examine how the respiratory pattern during spontaneous breathing interacts with physical fitness.

Respiratory Movements at Different Ages.

The current study aimed to better understand the changes in respiration that occur with aging in men and women to provide accurate recommendations for breathing exercises to improve health. A total of 610 healthy subjects, aged 20 to 59, participated in the study. They performed quiet breathing while wearing two respiration belts (Vernier, Beaverton, OR, USA) at the height of the navel and at the xiphoid process to record abdominal motion (AM) and thoracic motion (TM), respectively.

Effects of Exercise Training on Executive Functioning in Adults with Depression: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis of Randomized Controlled Trials.

Background: Exercise is a promising nonpharmacological intervention to improve executive function (EF). However, results from randomized trials and meta-analyses examining the effects of exercise on working memory in adults with depression are mixed, and the influence of exercise on EF, as well as the key moderators of the relationship, remain inconclusive.

Objective: The present systematic review with meta-analysis examined the influence of exercise interventions on EF in adults with depression, and the influence of key moderating variables.

Clinical efficacy of electromagnetic field therapy combined with traditional Chinese pain-reducing paste in myofascial pain syndrome.

Background: Pulsed electromagnetic field (PEMF) therapy is widely used to treat myofascial pain syndrome (MPS). Damp-clearing and pain-reducing paste (DPP) comprises medical herbs and has been a traditional method of reducing myofascial pain in China for a long time, and it is usually administered with heating. However, the synergistic effect of PEMF therapy on heating-DPP in patients with MPS is unclear.
