Abnormal homocysteine (Hcy) levels in human serum have been associated with serious or vital diseases, making the reliable and easy detection of Hcy important to clinical analysis and biological study. In this work, five phosphorescent Ir(C^N)(N^N) complexes (Ir) having aldehyde group were synthesized as probes (C^N and N^N denoted ligands). A discussion was conducted on their molecular structure, electronic structure, photophysical parameters, and Hcy sensing ability, revealing the correlations between their molecular structures and performances.

Objective: The study aimed to explore the risk factors for hyperuricemia (HUA) in the Naxi ethnic population residing in high-altitude areas of Yunnan, China, and assess the clinical value of the triglyceride/high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (TG/HDL-c) ratio as a diagnostic marker.

Methods: In this cross-sectional study, clinical data were collected from the health checkup population in the People's Hospital of Yulong Naxi Autonomous County, Yunnan Province, from January 2021 to January 2023. Cucumber (Cucumis sativus, Cs) tendrils are slender vegetative organs that typically require manual removal to ensure orderly growth during greenhouse cultivation. Here, we identified cucumber tendril-less (tl), a Tnt1 retrotransposon-induced insertion mutant lacking tendrils. In this study, walnut shell (WS) was used as feedstock, incorporating lithium carbonate (LC), sodium carbonate (SC), potassium carbonate (PC), and potassium hydroxide (PH) as pyrolysis catalysts and carbonization activators. A one-step method that allows catalytic pyrolysis and carbonization to be carried out consecutively under their respective optimal conditions is employed, enabling the concurrent production of high-quality pyrolysis oil, pyrolysis gas, and carbon materials from biomass conversion. The effects of LC, SC, PC, and PH on the yield and properties of products derived from WS pyrolysis as well as on the properties and performance of the resulting carbon materials were examined.

Mycotoxin contamination poses substantial health risks to humans and animals. In this study, the two laccases PpLac1 and AoLac2 from and were selected and heterologously expressed in in a food-grade manner to detoxify aflatoxin B (AFB), zearalenone (ZEN), and deoxynivalenol (DON). Both laccases exhibited degradation activity toward these three mycotoxins, while the efficiency of these for DON was relatively low.

Bimetal doped Cu-Fe-zeolitic imidazole framework-8 (ZIF-8)/graphitic carbon nitride (GCN) (Cu-Fe-ZIF-8/GCN) nanocomposites were prepared one-pot and ion-exchange methods. The main influencing factors, such as adsorbent concentration, TC concentration, initial pH, and coexisting ions, were evaluated in detail. Due to the suitable pore structures and the presence of multiple interactions on the surface, the nanocomposite showed a high adsorption capacity up to 932 mg g for tetracycline hydrochloride (TC), outperforming ZIF-8 by 4.
