Monocular endoscope-based reconstruction of dynamic 3D surgical fields is beneficial for both intraoperative manual/robotic manipulation and post-operative surgical skills training. However, the natural characteristics of tissue deformations with instruments and blood obscuration bring great challenges to 3D scene awareness, especially under sparse viewpoints limited by laparoscopic movements. In this work, we propose Endo-4SRF, an effective Neural Radiance Field (NeRF)-based method that can reconstruct deformable tissues with instruments stealth by solely relying on monocular endoscopic image flows from a single viewpoint.

Human studies suggest links between early cognitive performance and later mental health, but inconsistencies remain. It is unclear if specific brain regions mediate this relationship, and the molecular underpinnings are not well understood.

Metal-organic framework (MOF) derivatives have attracted tremendous attention in electromagnetic (EM) wave absorption owing to their unique properties such as structural diversity, tailorable components and light weight. However, they fail to demonstrate decent EM attenuation performance due to inadequate heterostructures and multiple reflections. Here, 3D carbon skeleton (CS)/MOF derivatives are prepared an growth and pyrolysis strategy which is based on chitosan derived CS and the MOFs ZIF-8 and ZIF-67.

However, the instability and nonreusability of free PTE become the key factors restricting its practical application. In this study, a novel cross-linked magnetic hybrid nanoflower (CLMNF) was prepared.

Efficient and precise calculations of thermal transport properties and figures of merit, alongside a deep comprehension of thermal transport mechanisms, are essential for the practical utilization of advanced thermoelectric materials. In this study, we explore the microscopic processes governing thermal transport in the distinguished crystalline material TlSbTe by integrating a unified thermal transport theory with machine learning-assisted self-consistent phonon calculations. Leveraging machine learning potentials, we expedite the analysis of phonon energy shifts, higher-order scattering mechanisms, and thermal conductivity arising from various contributing factors, such as population and coherence channels.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFLive fish transportation is crucial for managing aquaculture but can pose health risks to fish due to stressors encountered during transportation. Gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) is an inhibitory neurotransmitter that plays a crucial role in the central nervous system and is considered to exhibit anti-stress effects. This study aims to investigate the effects of GABA on the transport water quality, plasma biochemical indices, energy metabolism, and antioxidant capacity of tawny puffer () under transport stress.

However, the role of macrophage polarization in LPS-related miscarriage-inducing effect is not apparent.
Methods: In this work, gene expression changes and the percentage of M1/M2 macrophages and monocytes in LPS-induced miscarried uterus were firstly analyzed by RNA sequencing (RNA-seq) and Flow Cytometry.
Unlabelled: Sex differences in the brain have been widely reported and may hold the key to elucidating sex differences in many medical conditions and drug response. However, the molecular correlates of these sex differences in structural and functional brain measures in the human brain remain unclear. Herein, we used sample entropy (SampEn) to quantify the signal complexity of resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging (rsfMRI) in a large neuroimaging cohort (N = 1,642).

Exercise may produce and release the myokine irisin through muscle fiber contraction. However, the effect of exercise-promoted irisin production on the internal interactions of the muscle-bone unit in PTOA studies remains unclear.

Intervertebral disc degeneration (IDD) is considered as a dominant contributor to low back pain (LBP), causing severe pain, limited range of lumbar motion, physical dysfunction, and restriction of social activity. However, the specific pathological mechanisms underlying IDD remain elusive, and effective strategies to delay the pathogenesis of IDD are still unclear and limited. In recent years, some studies have found that nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2 (Nrf2), an important antioxidant transcription factor, may play crucial roles in the pathogenesis and progression of age-related diseases including IDD.

Methods: The microstructure of white matter in patients showing SCD in the preclinical phase of AD (SCD of pre-AD) was evaluated using diffusion images, and voxel-wise fractional anisotropy (FA), mean diffusivity (MD), and axial and radial diffusivities were assessed and compared among participant groups. Significant clusters in the tracts were extracted to determine their associations with alterations in the cognitive domains.

The aberrant tumor microenvironment (TME), especially immature and leaky vessels, prevents the penetration and accumulation of chemotherapeutics and results in the failure of chemotherapy to treat gynecologic cancer. Herein, dexamethasone (Dex), a glucocorticoid steroid used to moderate tumor extracellular matrix and normalize vessels, was enclosed within a biocompatible material known as poly(lactic--glycolic acid) (PLGA), and the obtained Dex@PLGA was further coated with a mouse cervical cancer cell membrane (CM). The formulated Dex@PLGA-CM nanoparticles showed efficient extravascular diffusion within the tumor owing to the homologous targeting abilities inherited from the source cancer cells.

Cognitive decline is one of the most distinct signs of aging, and age-related cognitive decline is a heterogeneous issue varying in different cognitive domains and has significant differences among older adults. Identifying characteristics of cognitive aging is the basis of cognitive disease for early-detection and healthy aging promotion. In the current chapter, age-related decline of main cognitive domains, including sensory perception, memory, attention, executive function, language, reasoning, and space navigation ability are introduced respectively.

Here, we leveraged a self-designed multifunctional isopeptide (MISP) to construct an electrochemical biosensing platform for annexin A1 (ANXA1) detection in human blood. The MISP was designed to contain two parts: an antifouling cyclotide cyclo-C(EK) and a d-amino acid-containing carbohydrate-mimetic recognizing peptide IF-7 (D-IF7) connected by the isopeptide bond.
