Sleep deprivation as a treatment for major depressive episodes: A systematic review and meta-analysis.

Sleep deprivation, alone or in combination with pharmacological treatment and as part of a chronotherapy package, is of potential use for people with major depressive episodes, however the evidence base is still conflicting. The aim of this systematic review and meta-analysis is to assess the clinical effects of sleep deprivation in comparison to any other intervention for the acute and long-term treatment of mood disorders. We searched electronic databases and trial registries (last update: 16th October 2021) for published and unpublished randomised controlled trials recruiting participants with a major depressive episode in unipolar or bipolar affective disorder.

Parenchymal lung abnormalities following hospitalisation for COVID-19 and viral pneumonitis: a systematic review and meta-analysis.

Introduction: Persisting respiratory symptoms in COVID-19 survivors may be related to development of pulmonary fibrosis. We assessed the proportion of chest CT scans and pulmonary function tests consistent with parenchymal lung disease in the follow-up of people hospitalised with COVID-19 and viral pneumonitis.

Methods: Systematic review and random effects meta-analysis of proportions using studies of adults hospitalised with SARS-CoV-2, SARS-CoV, MERS-CoV or influenza pneumonia and followed up within 12 months.

Influence of angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitors/angiotensin receptor blockers on the risk of all-cause mortality and other clinical outcomes in patients with confirmed COVID-19: A systemic review and meta-analysis.

Since the COVID-19 pandemic, physicians concerned about the potential adverse effects of angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitors (ACEIs)/angiotensin receptor blockers (ARBs). To explore the relationship between ACEIs/ARBs and the risk of mortality and other clinical outcomes in COVID-19 patients, the authors conducted a systemic review and meta-analysis. An electronic search was performed from inception to November 12, 2020 in PubMed, Medline, EMBASE, ClinicalTrials, TRIP, the Cochrane Library, CNKI, Wanfang, and CBM database.

Phenotypic and molecular characteristics of carbapenem-non-susceptible Enterobacteriaceae from a teaching hospital in Wenzhou, southern China.

Carbapenem resistance in Enterobacteriaceae is increasing and has become a matter of great concern. The aim of this study was to characterize carbapenem-non-susceptible Enterobacteriaceae from a teaching hospital. A total of 49 carbapenem-non-susceptible Enterobacteriaceae clinical isolates recovered in 2007-2010 from the First Affiliated Hospital of Wenzhou Medical College were analyzed by antimicrobial susceptibility testing.

[Study on apoptosis effect induced by isothiocyanates in broccoli on HepG-2 cells and its mechanism].

Objective: To investigate the apoptosis effect of isothiocyanates (ITCS) on human liver cancer cells HepG-2, and its mechanism.

Method: HepG-2 cells were treated with different concentrations of ITCS. MTT assay was used to evaluate the influence of ITCS on cell proliferation.
