The screening of glycoprotein markers has become an integral part of the in vitro diagnosis of malignant tumors. Herein, an electrochemical method based on alkaline phosphatase (ALP)-mediated enzymatic silver deposition is reported for the highly sensitive detection of glycoprotein tumor markers, in which ALP enzymes are decorated to the glycan moieties of targets via the lectin-carbohydrate interactions. As glycoproteins are conjugated with multiple glycan chains, lectin-mediated labeling can result in the decoration of each target with multiple ALP enzymes.

The individualized administration and pharmacokinetics profiling are integral to the safe use of antibody drugs in immunotherapy. Here, we propose an electrochemical platform for the highly sensitive and selective detection of antibody drugs, taking advantage of the affinity capture by the peptide mimotopes together with the signal amplification by the biologically-driven RAFT polymerization (BDRP). Briefly, the BDRP-based platform involves the capture of antibody drugs by peptide mimotopes, the labeling of multiple reversible addition-fragmentation chain-transfer (RAFT) agents to the glycan chains of antibody drugs, and the BDRP-enabled controlled recruitment of numerous redox labels.

The CMA-ChemRA (China Regional Weakly Coupled Chemical-Weather Reanalysis System) was developped using China's first-generation global atmospheric reanalysis product (CRA-40) as initial fields and boundary conditions, coupled with the WRF-Chem atmospheric chemical model and the WRFDA/3DVar assimilation system. By constructing a joint background error covariance matrix, CMA-ChemRA achieves weak coupling between atmospheric chemistry and meteorological variables, enabling simultaneous assimilation of diverse data sources, including hourly observations from ground stations, wind profilers, upper-air soundings, aircraft reports, and atmospheric composition measurements. To extend the dataset to periods before 2013 when China lacked PM observations, the system incorporates a reconstructed PM dataset derived by AI from visibility inversion alongside various emission inventories.

Glycoproteins have become the most often screened tumor markers in the in vitro diagnostics. Although a large number of electrochemical methods have been proposed to sensitively detect glycoproteins, most of them involve the aid of laborious signal amplification. Herein, we report the use of glycan-evocated metallization (GlyMetal) for the amplification-free electrochemical detection of glycoproteins at low concentration levels.

As a glycoprotein hormone, human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) is an established marker for pregnancy test. On the basis of the target-mediated silver deposition (TSD), in this work, we report the development of an amplification-free electrochemical biosensor for the highly sensitive detection of hCG. The detection of hCG involves the use of the affinity peptide-modified electrode for hCG capture (the CGGSSPPLRINRHILTR peptide containing the hCG-binding domain of the PPLRINRHILTR sequence is used as the affinity peptide), the oxidation of the diol sites of the glycan chains on hCG hormones into aldehyde groups by NaIO, and the deposition of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) for the solid-state voltammetric stripping analysis.

Article Synopsis
  • The research investigates how a maternal high-fat diet and gestational diabetes affect the metabolism of lipids and the profile of polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA) in their offspring.
  • Offspring are classified into different groups based on their mother's diet and GDM status, and their PUFA composition and protein signaling are analyzed using techniques like gas chromatography and Western blotting.
  • Findings suggest that exposure to high-fat diets and gestational diabetes during early development can alter PUFA profiles and protein expression related to signaling pathways in male offspring as they grow into adulthood.

When single-particle dynamics are suppressed in certain strongly correlated systems, dipoles arise as elementary carriers of quantum kinetics. These dipoles can further condense, providing physicists with a rich realm to study fracton phases of matter. Whereas recent theoretical discoveries have shown that an unconventional lattice model may host a dipole condensate as the ground state, we show that dipole condensates prevail in bosonic systems due to a self-proximity effect.
