Phenylarsine oxide (PAO) is a known environmental pollutant and skin keratinocytes are most seriously affected. Baicalin (BCN) was reported to have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects, but its protective effect against PAO toxicity is unknown. This study aimed at exploring whether baicalin can reverse the toxicity of human epidermal keratinocytes that are subjected to PAO exposure and underlying mechanisms.

Objective:: This study aimed at examining the alterations in metabolomic profiles caused by treatment of infection, and the associations between key plasma metabolites and the risk of gastric lesion progression during follow-up after treatment.

Methods:: An intervention trial was performed in 183 participants, 117 of whom were positive participants receiving treatment for infection. positive participants were prospectively followed for 182 to 1,289 days.

Invasive Salmonella infections result in a significant burden of disease including morbidity, mortality, and financial cost in many countries. Besides typhoid fever, the clinical impact of non-typhoid Salmonella infections is increasingly recognized with the improvement of laboratory detection capacity and techniques. A retrospective multicenter study was conducted to analyze the clinical profiles and antimicrobial resistance patterns of invasive Salmonella infections in hospitalized children in China during 2016-2018.

A method based on high-performance liquid chromatography and Fourier transform-ion cyclotron resonance mass spectrometry was developed to control the quality of Semen Hoveniae. First, the chromatographic fingerprint was established in combination with the chemometrics methods such as similarity analysis, cluster analysis, principal component analysis, and orthogonal partial least squares discriminant analysis to discover the qualitative markers. Then, an high-performance liquid chromatography mass spectrometry method was developed to identify the chemical constituents in Semen Hoveniae.

This study determined the influence of 3-(4-methoxyl)-1-(2-(4-coumarin)prop)-2-en-1-one (MCPEO) on the differentiation of Gaoyou duck embryo osteoclasts cultured in vitro. Bone marrow mononuclear cells (BM-MNCs) were harvested from 23-day-old Gaoyou duck embryos and induced by receptor activator of nuclear factor κB ligand (RANKL) and macrophage colony-stimulating factor (M-CSF) in the presence of MCPEO at different concentrations (i.e.

Background: RNA-binding protein LIN28 is involved in maintaining the pluripotency of embryonic stem cells. It has been detected in different types of testicular and ovarian germ cell tumors (GCTs), but its status in pediatric YSTs (yolk sac tumors) is still unknown. The aim of this study was to determine the immunohistochemical profile of LIN28 in pediatric YSTs.

Peptides and small molecules produced by both the plant pathogen Phytophthora and host plants in the apoplastic space mediate the relationship between the interplaying organisms. Various Phytophthora apoplastic effectors, including small cysteine-rich (SCR) secretory proteins, have been identified, but their roles during interaction remain to be determined. Here, we identified an SCR effector encoded by scr96, one of three novel genes encoding SCR proteins in P.
