The proper assembly and maturation of collagens necessitate the orchestrated hydroxylation and glycosylation of multiple lysyl residues in procollagen chains. Dysfunctions in this multistep modification process can lead to severe collagen-associated diseases. To elucidate the coordination of lysyl processing activities, we determine the cryo-EM structures of the enzyme complex formed by LH3/PLOD3 and GLT25D1/ColGalT1, designated as the KOGG complex.

: In chronic hepatitis B infection (CHB), the hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) continuously exhausts the hepatitis B surface antibody (HBsAb), which leads to the formation of immune tolerance. For an airborne passive radar with contaminated reference signals, the clutter caused by multipath (MP) signals involved in the reference channel (MP clutter) corrupts the covariance estimation in space-time adaptive processing (STAP). In order to overcome the severe STAP performance degradation caused by impure reference signals and off-grid effects, a novel MP clutter suppression method based on local search is proposed for airborne passive radar. In the proposed method, the global dictionary is constructed based on the sparse measurement model of MP clutter, and the global atoms that are most relevant to the residual are selected.

Snail is a master inducer of epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) and metastasis, however, Snail protein is labile and is quickly degraded through the predominate ubiquitination-mediated proteasome pathway. Deubiquitinases (DUBs) can counteract the Snail degradation process to maintain high level of Snail protein in cancer cells. In this study, we screened a cDNA library containing 79 DUBs, and discovered that a panel of DUBs consisting of USP13, USP28, USP29, USP37, OTUD6A, and DUB3 can markedly stabilize Snail protein, with USP29 displaying the strongest activity to prevent Snail degradation.

The SWI/SNF complex plays an important role in mouse embryonic stem cells (mESCs), but it remains to be determined whether this complex is required for the pluripotency of human ESCs (hESCs). Using RNAi, we demonstrated that depletion of BRG1, the catalytic subunit of the SWI/SNF complex, led to impaired self-renewing ability and dysregulated lineage specification of hESCs. A unique composition of the BRG1-SWI/SNF complex in hESCs was further defined by the presence of BRG1, BAF250A, BAF170, BAF155, BAF53A, and BAF47.

In this paper, a multibit, multiplicative, spread spectrum watermarking using the discrete multiwavelet (including unbalanced and balanced multiwavelet) transform is presented. Performance improvement with respect to existing algorithm is obtained by means of a new just perceptual weighting (JPW) model. The new model incorporates various masking effects of human visual perception by taking into account the eye's sensitivity to noise changes depending on spatial frequency, luminance and texture of all the image subbands.
