As the economy develops and urbanization progresses, the amount of arable land continues to decline. In this context, the cultivation of double-season rice is particularly important for enhancing yield per unit area. However, research on the physiological mechanisms that contribute to high yields in double-season early rice varieties with short growing seasons is still limited.

With the progress of society and the improvement of agricultural scientific technology, the single focus on high yield for rice production has gradually shifted to high quality. Coordinated development of grain yield and rice quality has become a core issue for researchers, and the underlying mechanisms remain to be solved. Two varieties, Zhongzheyou1 (ZZY1) and Zhongzheyou8 (ZZY8), were used as study materials under field conditions.

Purpose: This report describes a case of interface fluid syndrome (IFS) secondary to Posner Schlossman Syndrome (PSS) following small incision lenticule extraction (SMILE) surgery.

Case Presentation: A 19-year-old male was diagnosed with IFS secondary to PSS in his left eye 1 month after undergoing SMILE. Detailed patient history and clinical findings, auxiliary examination results, and short-term follow-up are reported.

Children's dental fear (CDF) has become one of the main reasons affecting the quality of dental treatment. In order to reduce the incidence of CDF in China before and after children's dental visits, this review applies literature analysis and empirical summary methods to analyze and summarize academic discussions on this topic, including occurrence mechanism, prevention guidance, and the conclusion that the occurrence and prevention of CDF is closely related with children's internal characteristics and external influences. In the end, we propose a breakthrough of combining the CFSS-DS scale and three-grade prevention theory together in the future to provide new ideas and hypotheses for the prevention of CDF.

Background: Retinal ischemia-reperfusion (RIR) injury refers to an obstruction in the retinal blood supply followed by reperfusion. Although the molecular mechanism underlying the ischemic pathological cascade is not fully understood, neuroinflammation plays a crucial part in the mortality of retinal ganglion cells.

Methods: Single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq), molecular docking, and transfection assay were used to explore the effectiveness and pathogenesis of N,N-dimethyl-3β-hydroxycholenamide (DMHCA)-treated mice with RIR injury and DMHCA-treated microglia after oxygen and glucose deprivation/reoxygenation (OGD/R).

Popular and readily available alkenes and alkynes are good substrates for the preparation of functionalized molecules through radical and/or ionic addition reactions. Difunctionalization is a topic of current interest due to its high efficiency, substrate versatility, and operational simplicity. Presented in this article are radical addition followed by oxidation and nucleophilic addition reactions for difunctionalization of alkenes or alkynes.

Amino acids (AAs) are among a handful of paramount classes of compounds innately involved in the origin and evolution of all known life-forms. Along with basic scientific explorations, the major goal of medicinal chemistry research in the area of tailor-made AAs is the development of more selective and potent pharmaceuticals. The growing acceptance of peptides and peptidomimetics as drugs clearly indicates that AA-based molecules become the most successful structural motif in the modern drug design.

An efficient organocatalyzed enantioselective conjugated addition of sodium bisulfite to β-trifluoromethyl-α,β-unsaturated ketones using a cinchona alkaloid-derived squaramide catalyst is presented. A series of optically active sulfonic acids, bearing a tertiary stereocenter connecting a CF group and a SOH group, were obtained in excellent yields with high enantioselectivities (up to 99% yield and 97% ee) under mild conditions. This method will provide an efficient, economic, and green route to access chiral sulfonic acid compounds.

A highly diastereo- and enantioselective [3+2] cycloaddition reaction of N-2,2,2-trifluoroethylisatin ketimines and 3-alkenyl-5-arylfuran-2(3H)-ones was developed with 1 mol% thiourea-tertiary amine as the catalyst. A series of spiro[pyrrolidin-3,2'-oxindoles] bearing four consecutive stereocenters, including two vicinal spiro-quaternary chiral centers, were efficiently obtained with excellent results (up to >99% yield, >20 : 1 dr, and >99% ee).
