Background: HPV FOCAL is a randomized trial comparing high-risk HPV [Hybrid Capture 2 (HC2)] vs. liquid-based cytology (LBC) for primary cervical screening.

Objective: The present study objective was to compare Aptima HPV (AHPV) and HC2 assay performance at the intervention arm baseline and 48 mo.

Background: Cervical cancer screening programs are switching from Pap screening to high-risk HPV testing.

Objectives: To compare the Aptima HPV Assay (AHPV) with the Hybrid Capture 2 High-Risk HPV DNA Test (HC2) for primary cervical screening.

Study Design: HPV FOCAL is a randomized trial comparing HC2 to liquid-based cytology (LBC) for screening women aged 25-65.

Background: HPV FOCAL is a randomized trial (ISRCTN79347302, registered 20 Apr 2007) comparing high-risk (hr) HPV testing vs. liquid-based cytology (LBC) for cervical cancer screening of women aged 25-65. We compared the Digene Hybrid Capture® 2 High-Risk HPV DNA Test® (HC2) and the Roche cobas® 4800 HPV Test (COBAS) for primary screening.

We assessed HPV 16 and 18 antibody responses of female subjects enrolled in a 2- vs. 3-dose quadrivalent HPV (Q-HPV) vaccine trial (ClinicalTrials.gov NCT00501137) using the Merck competitive Luminex (cLIA) and total IgG Luminex (TIgG) immunoassays, and a pseudovirus neutralizing antibody (PsV NAb) assay.

Background: Inclusion of self-collected rectal swabs (SCRS) into existing community venue-based HIV surveillance systems for men who have sex with men (MSM) may provide a feasible method for monitoring human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine-related outcomes in this population. We measured the prevalence of HPV and anal dysplasia through incorporating SCRS into ManCount, the Vancouver site of the M-Track HIV surveillance system.

Methods: Participating MSM were provided with a self-collection kit for collection on-site or at a follow-up venue.

Human papillomavirus 16 (HPV 16) and HPV 18 antibody responses in a 2- versus 3-dose HPV vaccine (Gardasil) trial were measured by a pseudovirus neutralizing antibody (PsV NAb) assay and by the Merck competitive Luminex immunoassay (cLIA). Eight hundred twenty-four female subjects assigned to three dosing regimens (group 1, 9 to 13 years old; 2 doses, months 0 and 6 [n = 259]; group 2, 9 to 13 years old; 3 doses, months 0, 2, and 6 [n = 260]; group 3, 16 to 26 years old; 3 doses, months 0, 2, and 6 [n = 305]) had postvaccine responses assessed 1 month after the last dose. Of 791 subjects with baseline and 7-month sera, 15 (1.

Background: In the HPV FOCAL trial, we will establish the efficacy of hr-HPV DNA testing as a stand-alone screening test followed by liquid based cytology (LBC) triage of hr-HPV-positive women compared to LBC followed by hr-HPV triage with > or = CIN3 as the outcome.

Methods/design: HPV-FOCAL is a randomized, controlled, three-armed study over a four year period conducted in British Columbia. It will recruit 33,000 women aged 25-65 through the province's population based cervical cancer screening program.
