In this study, we evaluated the effects of intrabursal administration of cabergoline and N-acetylcysteine on ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS) in an immature rat model. The study assessed body, ovarian, and uterine weights, as well as the concentrations of vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGF-A). Moreover, levels of MDA, 4-HDA, and nitrites were assessed in ovarian homogenates, and vascular permeability was quantified in the peritoneal cavity.

In the present work, electrospun membranes of polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) nanofibers were manufactured using extracts and phenolic fractions of (epazote), (nopal), and (chicken grass). The characterization of the membranes was carried out by scanning electron microscopy and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. The membranes synthesized through the use of the extracts generally showed a slight decrease in the diameter of the fibers but an increase in the size of the pores due to the presence of nanoparticles (rosaries) on the surface of the fibers, while the membranes synthesized using the phenolic fraction demonstrated an inversely proportional relationship between the compounds of this family with the diameter of the fibers and the size of the pore, allowing to elucidate part of the polymerization mechanisms of PVP nanofibers, in addition to proposing a reaction mechanism in the interaction between PVP and phenolic compounds for surface functionalization.

Microvasculature analysis in biomedical images is essential in the medical area to evaluate diseases by extracting properties of blood vessels, such as relative blood flow or morphological measurements such as diameter. Given the advantages of Laser Speckle Contrast Imaging (LSCI), several studies have aimed to reduce inherent noise to distinguish between tissue and blood vessels at higher depths. These studies have shown that computing Contrast Images (CIs) with Analysis Windows (AWs) larger than standard sizes obtains better statistical estimators.

Cervical cancer is the second most common cause of death from cancer in women worldwide, and the development of new diagnostic, prognostic, and treatment strategies merits special attention. Many efforts have been made to design new drugs and develop immunotherapy and gene therapy strategies to treat cervical cancer. HPV genotyping has potentially valuable applications in triage of low-grade abnormal cervical cytology, assessment of prognosis and followup of cervical intraepithelial neoplasia, and in treatment strategies for invasive cervical cancer.
