Objective: This study assessed the prevalence and impact of moderate and/or severe vasomotor symptoms and related treatment patterns in midlife women in Brazil.

Study Design: Brazilian women aged 40 to 65 years completed an online survey. The prevalence of moderate to severe vasomotor symptoms was assessed in postmenopausal women who completed a series of questionnaires to elicit responses regarding their treatment patterns and attitudes to treatments.

There is limited evidence about the use of medications among pregnant women with COVID-19, as well as risk factors for hospitalization due to COVID-19 in pregnancy. We aimed to describe the use of medications among SARS-CoV-2-positive pregnant women at the time around infection and identify predictors for hospitalization due to COVID-19 in two hospitals in Brazil. This is a hospital record-based study among pregnant women with positive SARS-CoV-2 tests between March 2020 and August 2022 from two Brazilian hospitals.

Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of oral ultra-low-dose continuous combination of 17β-estradiol (17β-E2) and norethisterone acetate (NETA) in postmenopausal Brazilian women.

Methods: Postmenopausal women (age 45-60 years) with amenorrhea >12 months and intact uterus, with moderate to severe vasomotor symptoms, were included. The vasomotor symptoms and endometrial bleeding were evaluated by a daily diary for 24 weeks, and the women were assessed at baseline and endpoint.

Objective:  The present study seeks to identify the associated factors that increased primary cesarean delivery rates.

Methods:  This was a cross-sectional study that evaluated the number of primary cesarean sections performed in the years 2006 and 2018 at the Hospital de Clínicas de Porto Alegre (HCPA, in the Portuguese acronym), through the collection of data from the medical records of the patients.

Results:  Advanced maternal age, twin pregnancy, and higher body mass index (BMI) became more frequent in 2018 in comparison with 2006.

Objectives: The objective of this study was to evaluate the relationship between food intake and serum levels of leptin and ghrelin in the luteal (LP) and follicular (FP) phases of the MC (menstrual cycle) in participants with and without PMS (premenstrual syndrome).

Methods: This was a case-control study with healthy participants aged 20-45 years with regular menstrual cycles (24-35 days) with and without PMS. After the Daily Record of Severity of Problems (DRSP) was filled out for two months (PMS diagnosis), a nutritional assessment was carried out based on twelve food intake records (for two menstrual cycles) to quantify food intake.

Objective: The effect of menopause transition in body composition was evaluated in a cross-sectional study.

Method: The study was carried out in an outpatient clinic of Brazil enrolling premenopausal ( = 64) and postmenopausal ( = 42) women aged between 44 and 52 years, with weight stability (±2 kg) for at least 6 months before evaluation. Participants answered a sociodemographic semi-structured questionnaire, the Menopause Rating Scale, the International Physical Activity Questionnaire, 24-h dietary recall and a visual analogue scale of appetite.

Objective: Examine the relationship between Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS) and sleep in different menstrual cycle phases.

Methods: Case-control survey conducted at the Primary Care Service and Clinical Research Center at Hospital de Clínicas de Porto Alegre with women aged between 18 and 45 years old. Women filled the Brazilian version of the Premenstrual Symptoms Screen Tool (PSST) for the screening of PMS; participants with positive screening completed the Daily Record of Severity of Problems (DRSP) to confirm PMS diagnosis.

Low doses of sulpiride have been used off-label to treat menopausal hot slashes in Southern Brazil despite limited scientific evidence. This randomized controlled trial aimed at assessing the effects of sulpiride as compared to placebo on the frequency and severity of hot flashes.
