A series of MnCoO flower-like hollow microspheres with various molecular proportions of reactant were prepared through simple solvothermal method for the ammonia selective catalytic reduction (SCR) at low temperatures. The as-prepared samples have been applied by various characterization techniques to explore the formation process of the morphology and physicochemical properties. The Mn(1)Co(1)O presented the optimal intrinsic catalytic performance (95% NO conversion at 75 °C), favorable thermal stability, and strong SO resistance.

In this study, a kind of bismuth vanadium (BiVO) microcube with step surface was successfully synthesized by a fast and mild hydrothermal method. The reaction time and hydrothermal temperature are the key factors which are accounted for the formation of this unique structure. The as-prepared BiVO microcube exhibited considerably higher visible light photocatalytic activity compared with the smooth one, revealing that fabrication of BiVO with step surface was an effective method to improve the photocatalytic activity.

BiFeO microtetrahedra, microcubes and microspheres were successfully synthesized by a simple hydrothermal process and by adding different additive agents. The formation mechanism of BiFeO microcrystals was proposed; the additive agents had important influences on the morphology and facet exposure of the products. The catalytic activity of these materials was evaluated by the degradation of RhB in a heterogeneous photo-Fenton process.
